Vice Admiral of the U.S.S. Prometheus!..
I order you to lower your shields and weapons or ill be forced to fire upon you!!!"
Yeah, it's another carrier. Everyone gets one. Get over it. :P
I just hope there's something "very unique" about it at least...
Well I assume we will have to fly it just like the Ambassador in the last FE - and I have no clue about carriers - and now there some new command interface - ahhhhh!!
That doesnt say everybody gets a free one, it just says "captain it in combat"
That means you fly it in a fight, not that you get to keep it.
As they reference the Temporal Ambassador it's logical to assume it will function similarly - you fly it in combat and then get to keep it. Whatever the case, we'll find out in about a month when the blog gets here.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

The new carrier is the reward for completing the Featured Episode, possibly as a limited time prize.
We'll keep the settings on stun and talk about the exclusive new alien ship that we are working on as a special reward for completing the new Feature Episode releasing in September.
This ancient, full-Carrier vessel uses subspace technology and was created by an alien race that may be related to the Iconians. As captains venture into the new feature episode, they?ll learn more about where this ship comes and get a chance to captain it in combat.
So another box that's going to collect dust in my Bank. Whatever, we're getting a new FE. That's all I care about.
Let's keep in mind that it's not really and FE as we knew them in the past. It's just a single mission - much like the Temporal Ambassador.

Romulans get to fly a Elachi ship and they don't keep it...Feds get to fly a BoP and use it in combat and they don't get to keep it...Klingons get to fly a Ambassador( :P ) and don't get to keep it.
Plenty of instances where flying a ship doesn't mean you get it...
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
Make sure you get it during the event as there are likely to be two versions (I am only going by how they have done this in the past). It's likely the level 50 version will only be available during the event. Pick it up on the characters you want it on while you can.
Still though, reread what he said again very carefully.....

Full-carrier.... I'm assuming this means the ship has 2 hangar bays, equaling 4 pet UIs?
We don't want what the Feds have. We want the equivalent. We want fairer treatment. Concern, desire, greed to some extent, and passionate belief that the enough people would buy KDF items to make it worth Cryptic's while.

You can ignore the command interface if you want. It isn't essential to playing. (Especially while the recall function isn't working as intended.

He said he was going to talk about the reward ship and then he mentions the carrier. While technically the sentence quoted here doesn't say that is the reward ship, the previous sentence would imply that it is.

Given some of the comments that have come out of Taco recently, I think it's more than safe to say that the "traditional" FEs are effectively dead. All we're going to get are the one-shot wonders.

At this point I'll happily take whatever new mission I can get that don't involve me Rep Grinding.

I could care less about the carrier, I just want the mission. I wish it was a string of missions, but I will take what I can get.
It will be nice that everyone will get access to a free carrier, something we did not have before, other than gold KDF. However I bet it?s a basic model and a 3-set C-Store version will follow a few weeks after the mission.

Think they'll take the step to sell non-Faction ships in the C-Store instead of making them available by Event/Lobi/Lockbox?
The pets on the other hand...Advanced/Elite in the Dil Store, eh? Perhaps even tied into the new Rep that will be coming...ah, the joys of speculation.

Yeah, because that's what happened with the Temporal Ambassador reward cruisers, right?
And to anyone wondering if "full carrier" means 2 hangar bays, that is precisely what that means. Any of the ships in game that only have 1 hangar bay aren't technically carriers, they're "flight deck cruisers". Their small craft aren't the main source of their firepower, unlike actual carriers.

Why are we getting a free carrier?

Ancient ship they say.... I'm going to say.... Generic Dreadnought #1
Hopefully it is a full carrier with 2 hanger bays

Beggers can't be choosers
Just like the Ambassador with the previous FE.............ohhhh wait

Quite simply, carriers are NOT Trek Canon. What's the addiction to adding them to this game?
I was wondering how long it would take until someone trotted out this particular chestnut.
