For the record, I'd keep flying my Sovereign and Negh'var.
Ironically, I don't want the ship to fly!
It's because I want the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship Hanger Pet to go with the Jem Hadar Dreadnaught.
And the only way to get that is to acquire the Bugship.
Now imagine the cost in real world dollars if I had to do that per character?
Or the cost in time obtaining the EC necessary to buy the Bugship via exchange?
I think there's a lesson to be learned there.
And this is it:
I'm very fond of Jem'Hadar ships, but because of this elitist exclusive nonsense about the Attack Ship, I've refused to buy the Dreadnaught until Cryptic come to their senses and offer a FAIR way to acquire the Bugship.
Basically, if they want the money I will expend on the Dreadnaught, they have to give me something in return first.
But since they're not doing the right thing, they're not getting the money I would spend on either attempting to get the Bugship or on acquiring the Dreadnaught.
They're the ones losing money here.
Pretty sure the Bug ship, and Dreadnaught made them a lot of money
As of Thursday, August 15th, 2013, before maintenance, Tal Shiar Lock Boxes will stop dropping as in-game rewards. Until the same time, we're also running a special lock box promotion! Read more for full details.
This is great but you should also open up the Shard of possibilities and Orphidian cane and the like to them because these are for ground what this promotion does for space combat for new players. These two tools in particular can be very desirable to new players that are watching the older players use them. Hopefully you open up the replay events once again for those items, it would be nice to release a new item or two on the next event in conjunction with the old items to also expand the ground scenario as we are doing in space with the Elachi ships. We do have new consumables but a new toy or two would bring the older players out to do replays along with the newer players.

I did the math once, $300-$500 dollars to get a single bug ship.
If you have that much disposable income to spend on just one ship for one character, you're either incredibly wealthy or just financially inept.
But, as the aphorism goes, just because everyone else jumps off a cliff, doesn't mean you should!
Cryptic can keep scamming as many players as they like with this lockbox scam, but I for one will not fall for it.
And I imagine there are certain more savvy players who aren't falling for it either.
As least we are secure in the knowledge Cryptic isn't getting our money for selling us nothing at all.
