Last Chance Promotion [Now Ended]

As of Thursday, August 15th, 2013, before maintenance, Tal Shiar Lock Boxes will stop dropping as in-game rewards. Until the same time, we're also running a special lock box promotion! Read more for full details.

    Typo for the Tal Shiar box. It says find the contents of the dominion box in the FAQ.

    Could the next "special lockbox promotion" be a week or two with no lockboxes at all?

    No, it actually will be Lockboxageddon with all current and past lockboxes dropping.

    Borg: Nah to Borgy
    Elachi: possibly
    Undine: hmmm will be odds of 8572 to 1 to get anything good :p
    Changeling lockbox: Can change into any kind of lockbox grand prize we want:
    Suliban: We have a cell ship but you never know
    Xindi: Would be interesting
    Iconion: Who needs a grand prize ship when you have access to the gateways

    Okay joking aside I Think Elachi is possibly going to be the lockbox as cannot see Cryptic telling us who the voyager enemy is so soon in releasing there lockbox.

    why not just drop all of them all the time? even better, make them RP loot drops, so that people can farm the boxes they want to work

    How about a sexy new Vulcan ship? Less enemy ships, more ships that my character would logically fly.

    Considering I have not wasted money on opening a single box since the original Bug Ship gamble box, I very much doubt this promotion applies to me.
    However I will thank those that do, so I may get it for free off the exchange ;):D

    I'd rather they cycle through the old lockboxes again for a while. Put some more Galors and D'koras into circulation, or more chances for Polarized Disruptor or Phased Tetryon weaponry.

    Knowing that There usually is an ENDLESS SUMMER SALE around the last week of August, will it be discount off master keys ( to goad us into opening the lock boxes we harvested during this promo ) or *gasp* ships...

    This is the perfect opportunity to have a Master Key **SALE!!**. There's no other way I'll be able to open the 297 Tal Shiar, 43 Dominion and 22 Temporal lock boxes I've accumulated. :o

    Hmm, anyone getting the drops? I still do not see the existing lock boxes dropping for me in foundry missions...

    Here's an idea, put lockboxes INSIDE other lockboxes! So people that care to open lockboxes get more they can open and people that don't care to don't get spammed with them all the time.

    Lock boxes should not be dropping in Foundry missions -- they never have, as noted in our FAQ :)

    Frankly I am happy to see the end of them. The fact they cost you money and drop nothing has been frustrating. It's not surprising no one picks them up anymore, they are just a revenue raiser for PW with pretty useless in game rewards. Broken mechanic as far as i am concerned. There are better way to deliver rewards than random drops that cost real money to open. It's like a lazy development option which adds nothing to the character of the game.

    thats right its a seperate loot table that way u can nurf and control how much ec players get.

    Doc. M'Vore is the one and only person I know of who uses that Tal'Shiar Destroyer. And in all of STO, his is the one and only Destroyer I have ever seen at all. I see plenty of the Lobi Cruisers, but I never see any Destroyers whatsover.

    So that leads me to think this lock box was a total failure.


    But as for lock boxes in general, I delete them on pickup. The one and only reason I opened them was to obtain Lobi for the Korath uniform. After that, the boxes are junk to me. For my Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier, I entirely used EC to pay for it. Those Risa Flower Accent boxes have been great EC.
    I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.
