Posts like this make me laugh, these rants from people who have probably never written a line of code in their life.
First off, if they suddenly stop adding stuff and just work on bugs the game will get stale and players will migrate to something else.
Secondly, the major bugs that effect the majority of players are fixed rather quickly, every game has flaws, no game is perfect because no set of code is perfect, I'm sorry if these bugs interfere with your gameplay but in my opinion the game runs quite smoothly.
STO may be a free game but it's also a very complex game, it may not seem like it but that's because you can't see the code that goes into it. To think that these issues can just be fixed in a couple days is humorous, to think they'd stop developing for an entire season is hilarious.
Now, to toss in my 2 cents, what STO needs to do is hire a bunch of debuggers, but yet that costs money so hmm. The thing is STO is making a ton of money compared to before it went F2P. So in all actuality money isn't really a reason, and please, don't argue the fact of how much they are making, they are no where next to being bankrupt or falling off or anything like that. Cryptic is making bank.

Yes a lot of people have not written codes for games it is not easy but that is no excuse for bugs that have been around for years. Bug fixing needs to be a higher priority then it currently is.
That is why you add 1 new ground and space stf mission. 1 new ship for each faction. Massive bug fixing. Doing that everyone is happy. You have your new content in new missions. You have new ships for each side. You have massive bug fixes. Win Win for everyone.
Lol no they are not fixed rather quickly only some are most are not. Look at the Scimitar. It still is not fixed. It still has problems of taking more damage then it should. A warp core explosion from a Sphere should not drop your hull from 100% to 2% something of which has happened to me before. Their are also bugs that have been around for years from what I have heard.
That is still no excuse for bugs being present for years. I don't care how complicated the code is for the game it is either incompetence or a lack of caring for the bugs being around so long. Again not a total season fix bug massive fixing with a little new stuff like I said earlier. That is what I want most and I know I am not the only person.
Yes the need to hire more people to fix the bugs they don't have enough or if they do they are incompetent.
I do understand and agree in different aspects of bug issues. Personally I think it's TRIBBLE that a cube can 1 shot you with a plasma torp, but that's not considered a bug. I've played around with the Romulan faction, not really my cup of tea personally so I'm not aware of romi ship bugs. Sometimes I feel that the bugs aren't all STOs fault. Some If them seem to be hit and miss based on what computer your on. My friend has issues, I do the same thing as him and no bug issues. The bug problems do need to be addressed with a massive patch, they just need to hire a debugging team, that's what WoW did.

That ought to greatly reduce the number of bugs, and I imagine the clientele would be more interested in purchasing subscriptions.
Not a loaded remark / statement, just thinking in the shoes of a player who is affected by bugs.
I hope STO get's better ...
