Since the New Romulus edition, every time I start the game and sign in, it says Patch. But it stays on Patch even if it is not patching. It never says Engage anymore. I have to double click Patch many times before it finally starts. Other times, I have to close it and try again. Please fix this issue.
honestly i can't think of anything else that could help although if your launcher does manage to patch the game you could just start the client directly from your game files (use the GameClient.exe that is located in the place where you installed the game)

I updated the launcher but this did not fix the problem. It's a shame Cryptic can't fix this error or even reply to my ticket about it. If a game can't start, it's worthless!
Ok,try this:when you open your launcher,go to the options in the upper right corner,and check the "verify" box.This may take a bit,but it cross references the integrity of the files.After trying this,close the launcher,re-open,and login.Hope this helps

Find the installation folder, for Windows 7 its
C:/USERS/GAMES/CRYPTIC STUDIOS/STAR TREK ONLINE/LIVE
Find and run the file "GAMECLIENT.EXE".
If you're patched, you are good to go.
