The Federation has more T1 ships than anybody else do you really need another one?
Romulans and Klingons both have a Normal and Paid BoP.
The Federation has the Miranda, the Constitution, the NX, the Steamrunner and the Oberth, 5 ships and 8 classes. Not including the Andorian ship that could only be gotten from another game. One Free, the rest Paid. And only the Steamrunner available at T5.
I think you chose the right Tier for the ship but.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.
I'm all for a "modern" version of the Columbia-class as a T5 destroyer (the escort/cruiser hybrid class, like the chimera), as long as they don't give it a wedge shaped saucer section.
Personally i don't think that this "refit" does make that ship look better, rather the contrary.
I don't think that cryptic would make it a T5 ship, since they are already reluctant towards a T5 Constitution Class, which is a much more "modern" ship than the NX refit.
On the other hand canon has been flushed down the toilet long ago, so i would rather see a T5 NX class than this ugly thing.
But since there is demand for that ship, maybe they could make the NX a more tactical focussed destroyer and the NX Refit a more engineering focussed ship.
"...'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured...the first thought forbidden...the first freedom denied--chains us all irrevocably.' ... The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged. I fear that today--"
- (TNG) Picard, quoting Judge Aaron Satie
Like I said in another thread: I actually do like this design and can actually see it starting the legacy of TOS designed vessels. Since space, time and plausability have no meaning in STO anyway I'd rather see this ship in-game as opposed to the ugly original designs cryptic does.
^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^
"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh

"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
Nah, it's miles ahead of how the NX class looks. Miles ahead of cryptics original fed ships also.
Now the Vesta, that's an ugly ship.
no offense to the op, but this design is just garbage. it looks like they took a beautiful design and through a secondary hall on it, to make it look more like the 1701. if this really came out as the enterprise in season 5 of the show i would have just stopped watching it no matter how much i liked the show. though i was going to keep that all to myself then someone called a beautiful ship like the vesta ugly. i just cant stand that, the vesta design just flows with what starfleet and in real life designers of the show was setting out for ship design after defiant, intrepid and sovereign, just to name a few, classes set out. the ship design flows, smoothly like these ships, not broken up like the conny, ambassador, or the gal.

Pardon my confusion. I can get a Steamrunner at T1?

The T5 version in the deal is nice. You don't really use the T1 version too long - due to the leveling speed.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

The ship design is beautiful.

Sadly soft-canon sources have a way of being stupidly over-creative with their ideas.
So it's not really a class of its own.
