I love it when people play the realistic button in video games.
Fiction...is usually still based on reality in some fashion.
Science Fiction...is generally broken down into Hard and Fantasy, so to speak. But even the Fantasy Science Fiction is still going to be grounded in some sense of reality. Many things that ignore certain laws of physics will not completely ignore them. Basically, they can't - it's our perspective...our reality.
I especially love it when someone brings up realism thinking it will support his claim, then as soon as people point out how wrong he is, he switches to "video games shouldn't be realistic".
Again, there's no need for this, reverse works fine in game as it is.

I must agree that I find no need to nerf Reverse in any form right now. Many is the time my poor sci torp boat has found itself under attack from an escort and come to an all stop, hit reverse and evasive to perform a "J-turn" and give the 'scort a face full of torps
1. The premise surrounding the original post is demonstrably wrong... speed already decreases when going in reverse. Reverse speed can be boosted by any power that increases speed, but the base speed will still be lower.
If anyone cares to argue that the reverse speed isn't slow enough or that speed boosters should not apply in reverse, please supply a well-reasoned argument backed up by facts or state that your position is merely your opinion... in another thread, because this one is being closed.
2. The large number of ad hominem arguments and red herrings being thrown out there by multiple posters, including the OP, are not addressing the central point and are merely creating what we call a "forum disturbence".
Any assertion that is based on an argument that the opposing side is unskilled or ignorant is basically an insult... which is not allowed on the forums. Any posts that another person may have made in another thread on a different topic are irrelevant and therefore off-topic. Posting off-topic is also against the rules.
You may state your opinions or what you believe to be facts, but you may not engage in any verbal assault of any kind on the poster's person. That includes any attempt to discredit the argument by discrediting the person. Calling other people trolls or liars or anything of the sort is against the rules.
Since this thread is full of these things, along with some obvious misinformation, I believe that allowing it to continue is contrary to the interests of the forum users in general.

...how about we avoid the hyperbole, eh?
It's already nerfed enough, please don't mess with it any more.
I love it too.

More evidence of a video game being unrealistic? For shame, Cryptic, I want my pseudoscience to be accurate.
