You would be better off in a Dhelan or in a D'D, also Romulans do have a science ship ... the Ha'nom, I have no idea why people continue to ignore that ship as if somehow being a free ship at lv 40 makes it "bad".

There is also the mirror version. the normal one is a RSV with battle cloak and the mirror is a DSSV with battle cloak, I agree, not sure why people are ignoring them.

Thats a very bad idea, the Scimitar is a destroyer and what you do with it is you just make a typical Aux2Bat build since that pretty much the only thing that works, you cannot use it in the same way as a science ship being you have to spec to overcome the numerous deficiencies of the ship.

Stop trying to homogenize my game.

How ironic. It's already homogenized. That's the problem.

Ignoring refit, retrofit and mirror variants there are 12 warbirds - 8 escort (67%), 3 cruiser (25%), 1 science (8%).

Including refit, retrofit and mirror variants there are 30 warbirds - 19 escort (63%), 8 cruiser (27%), 3 science (10%).

    Anyway, back on topic!

Click here to see the video with both the Science ship and Temporal Science ship (and a mystery ship!)

PS: misterde3 Despite my fairly reasonable explaination above I do in fact blame you for not having the ability of precognition. :P

I think the Kwisatz Haderach will have to wait a bit.
Yup, I stumbled on the same vid directly via youtube...but we'll have to wait and see whether it'll actually BE a seperate ship because on TRIBBLE it's actually the same ship, just two different skins.

JamJamz, the biggest problem about the Ha'nom to me is two fold.

1-Its MASSIVE. I have never seen a Science ship this large (Carriers Excluded). Due to its massive size, it suffers a loss of turn rate. You compared it to the RSV, but it has a 3 point difference in turn rate due to the size.

2-This is my own opinion, but I feel the Ha'nom (and by extension, the Ha'feh) were pretty cheaply designed, by simply splitting one ship up, you got two more.

If you were to make a S-Store Science Vessel, it needs to be considerably smaller, and have the RSV's base turn of 13.

Its enormous size also has other detrimental effects.

I could live with the reduced visibility - the ship blocks a lot of the view - but being so huge makes it more difficult to navigate a crowded playfield. The best you can do is try to stay out of the same plane as all other vessels.

actually this is a romulan bop without the bop universal bridge officers and i have one. i wouldnt even qualify this as a good tac ship let alone a science ship. as i had good success with the chel grett and its extra sci slots you would think maybe this ship would work ok but it does not.
anyhow this thread is about romulan science specific ships not bad tac ships.

lol the fleet dhelan is freaking amazing, what are you smoking?

    ^This

The only think I don't like about my fleet Dhelan is that it's too good. I have the scimitar bundle and t'varo retrofit and I can't seem to bring myself to fly them on my sci Rom which is my main character.

Just put 2 fleet Neu +turns on it and ffffffffff. 3 FT Adv Plasma DHCs, soon to be Hyper torp and it shreds things. Plus I get a little fun sci on the side.
The other night I was farming repair hulk at Kerrat when a klink in a BoP started messing with me. He'd decloak and fire off a mess of quantum torps just as I decloaked fully buffed and thus get the loot it dropped because his quantums tore hull only hulks apart.

Finally I got tired of it.. picked a hulk between 2 tac cubes and 2 regular cubes, when he decloaked I tagged him with tractor beam, gravity well (right now I run 3 +Aux w/ Cloaked purple doffs and 2 gravity well aftershock) he popped APO and I subnuc'd him then dropped my APO EPtW, TT, CRF alpha on him (all rom/rem boffs all but 2 with superior traits) while the Cubes started targeting him thanks to the 3 aftershocks agroing them. I'm not sure if I popped him or the cubes but he was furious. I got a good laugh out of it and he left me alone for the rest of the night.

Should also be noted the T'varo and Dhelan (and all Romulan/Reman ships for that matter) are WARBIRDS, not BIRDS OF PREY.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

well this is not entirely true as there is a fleet ship but at tier 5 shipyard.
when i think of the romulans the two words which come to mind first is stealth and science. i started and completed 2 new romulan toons a tac and a science captain. granted i should of looked before jumping into my science career but now i am stuck with no end line vice admiral ship or c store ship. waiting for my fleet to complete tier 5 shipyard, well keep dreaming.
the thing that gets me is there are various choices for tacs and engineers but not 1 option for science and i do love flying my romulan sci toon. any of you science captains disappointed as much as i am out there?

A dedicated science ship? Only the Fleet Ha'nom really fits that category according to its boff stations. And even then, it's not a great science ship, and there are no other selections. At least none with a Cmdr level science boff seat.
