While this seems like a great idea in theory, it might be terrible in practice. OPvP has been around forever, and while it seems to still be surviving. Things like this pop up, which ask to divide what is left of the community. Those that are used to OPvP are probably going to stay there. And what makes matters worse is it seems like this might be a more exclusive "Ruled" PvP channel.
Meaning that if somebody Pew Pews the wrong person, even if fair, they might end up banned from the Channel. That or without any form of chatter, the channel will be like Public Elite STF... Very much against conversation and very pro acronyms...

I for one believe that this may revolutionize game play. Tear the control of Player versus player from the establishment of exploiters and neckbeards. Huzzah.

From my observations and the background of the owners of the channel and the guys behind it its simply running away from the current state of the game. (I suppose the rules of the latest tournament that never got lift off the ground can be associated with the main idea behind this new channel)
We dont have to accept all the stuff thats going on in the game, some aspects of this game are truly OP on a per console/ship/doff comparison basis versus price, but ignoring well known and old skool tactics, scramble still called OP, disruptors that have been in the state they are in since Season 4 (Aka proc buffed by raw dmg buffs) all that stuff is just pure subjective and are being despised by a specific group.
I don't like Opvp all the time because of all the bs going on there, but I think its still better to have a neutral ground like Opvp where ppl fight each other like chickens but not choose a side and try splitting up the Community because a bunch of friends/groups believe certain stuff is OP and they do not like to fight against those 'things'.
Stick with your fleet and arrange some interfleets, leave the community out of your personal opinions.

i also remember a time that opvp was run mostly by TSI members, and it was thought that was fleet biased and TRIBBLE. but we always had a "hands off" on the channel. i remember a few times i had to tell other members that "no we will not censor people, no we will not change the way the channel is".
seems like its all working as intended. a community of people that like to bs and sometimes do pvp together.
id imagine that pvp in this game would be even worse if there wasn't opvp in the game.
im surprised cryptic never made any "offical" chat channels in the game.
i mean seriously, how hard would that have been on their part?
they even had promised a "life timers only" chat channel that never happened and eventually was removed from their "coming soon" on the lifer rewards.

There appears to have been an increase in the amount of tedious trolling taking place in OPvP...perhaps an attempt to discourage players from hanging around in the channel.
