Tier V Romulus Rep mission: "Secrets of the Ancients" stuck (Resolved!)

I'm unable to finish this as KDF-Rom.

I'm stuck at part 'View the Findings'.

After Signaling D'Tan and watching the movie, nothing happens. Quest won't advance.


Anyone managed to finish this? (as kdf-rom)

    I can finish the ground daily attached to "the power source" but all I get is the "signal D'Tan" tab and all I get from that is a cutscene with no update to the "Secrets of the Ancients" reputation completion mission. I can't drop or reset that missions, and if I leave the mission area having completed "the power source" I won't be able to come back until the daily timer is up.

    I'm very stuck and very frustrated. Is there a workaround? Yes I filed a ticket but not sure if there will be a response.

    I beat this before on two other characters, but now my Romulan faction character simply can't get an update for the Tier V finale, "Secrets of the Ancients". I can do the ground daily attached to it, "The Power Source" but all I get is a tab to repeat the cutscene and no update.

    If I leave the mission area I get locked out for a day.

    I've been a loyal Cryptic customer for many years and have a lot of patience. That being said, because of the lockout timer and the need I have for the reward marks and dilithium, I'm very frustrated and hope beyond hope there's a workaround to this (yes, ticket filed for what its worth). This is very unintuitive and I am sure I'm not the only one who got stuck on this finicky mission. Its so tempermental I feel like it has a mind of its own. :(

    All i get is that "signal D'tan" button and pressing it gives a cutscene and no update, over and over.

    i had this too, way back...all i did was repeat the daily, and it actually worked at the second attempt.

    I repeated the daily today. And then I repeated it again with a fleetmate so I could beat the daily timer. Still no luck.

    If there's some mechanical way in-mission to prevent it from doing this, I'm eager to know it.

    I beat this twice before on two other characters. Did they freshly break it and make the completion condition even more fragile?

    I take it you've completed the tier 1-4 missions as well? I remember reading somewhere that if you've only skipped to the last mission it doesn't complete properly.

    I literally JUST completed this on one of my FED toons without any trouble, cutscene then did "File Report". Dunno why it wouldn't be working for a select few.

    "I got mine" is a very poor way to handle people that are having trouble.

    Oh, for details, this is a Romulan character on Fed side that is stuck. So because it's not a direct fed that might be an issue.

    Maybe it can... but I did the Tier 5 mission on 4 characters jsut fine without ever doing the previous reputation missions.

    Oh yes, yes I have. I did them all systematically well before this even came up.

    It's possible that it's because it's a Romulan character (Fed side if that matters at all, but noticed a KDF Rom had a similar issue).

    Actually it proves it's not completely borked for everyone. I also stated it was a FED toon and not just simply "i got mine". Also I added more info as I had to think back to what all the steps were thank you very much.

    Considering that a post just below mine mentioned he was a KDF romulan, it is quite possible there is something glitched on Romulan-version of Fed and KDF characters.

    Same issue for me, Romulan/KDF. I've done this a half dozen times before on other characters, the only difference is that this one is a Romulan. Same problem as described, the 'signal D'Tan' cutscene doesn't advance the mission as it should.

    It might help if we can find if there's a pattern here.

    If you have recently completed this end-of-reputation-story mission successfully and are a Romulan-side character in the Fed or KDF, please report that, anyone.

    If you had to use a workaround, please post it.

    If you got stuck, post that too. Maybe visibility will cause this to be fixed.

    As the statement below the person asked if it was "freshly" broken, hence why i stated I had just completed this on a FED toon without any trouble. Just because I don't have a magical solution on how to fix it for you, you are choosing to take out your frustration on my post just because YOU didn't think it was informative. No need to beat it with a stick...It's not like I broke the missio for you :rolleyes:

    Why are you still here anyway? If you're doing so fine with your non-Romulan character (note that the bug seems to have a pattern of happening among Romulan KDF/Fed), then having a thin skin because you getting yours wasn't cheered and celebrated and eye-rolling passive-aggressively here is only bumping up the post.

    Thank you for that anyway. Now let some people who might have the same issue get a chance to post.

    I reported the issue. I hope you did the same, too. This needs to be brought to their attention.

    Because as I have a Rom toon as well it would be interesting to know if it is just the Roms (which wouldn't surprise me with other things like this I've seen) And would hate to get all that way and get stuck as well. So as i'm genuinely curious about the problem am I allowed to be here now?.... You are taking my post as "I'm a FED and I got mine so TRIBBLE you" and that's NOT the case.

    Sorry you are having trouble and I hope it's fixed before my Rom hits Tier V.

    Even if they removed the rewards (lets hope they didnt) the story completion mission is still in my log, undeletable, unresettable, and uncompletable. And that bothers me.

    Projection is quite a thing, especially when covered with smilies and passive-aggressive defensiveness.

    I'd prefer this thread stay on topic. So if you continue as you are, I'll consider it to be more attention-milking because I bruised your ego, which is not relevant to the thread nor to the subforum.

    I'll be pleased to respond if you have something to post about the bug.

    I am stuck at the same part, i keep watching the video over and over but the mission will not advance...anyone know how to fix this?

    Everyone who has this problem: be sure to file a ticket and give details. The more we do this the more likely it will be fixed.

    I am going to re-attempt it tomorrow... my plan is to re-enter the mission after a deliberate disconnect today and see if that jostles that last stupid update.

    Same situation: Fed Rom, hit T5 today, went to do my mission. After the cutscene the mission will not complete. I still have "view the findings" to do. And if I view the cutscene again it still will not complete. I'm in a loop.

    Filed a GM ticket to see if one would come: [10:49] [System] [TicketCreated] Successfully submitted ticket ID #1,841,891.

    And filed a bug ticket: [10:50] [System] [TicketCreated] Successfully submitted ticket ID #1,841,896.

    Let's see if this helps.
