quest stuck, can't skip or drop

My Kdf aligned tac, rom has the quest "Neutral no more" with the stated instructions to "Claim a new ship." Problem is, I already have, took both the 'free' ship as well as the zen ship. Yet the quest has not advanced. The option to drop or skip the quest is greyed out, while the following quests are also unavailable. Would rather not delete the character and start over as I sent a lot of equips to this char from my main which are now bound to this character. Any work arounds?
Made a ticket, but have received no reply.

    I had the same problem, with my Romulan aligned FED.

    Just after getting the new ship. I thought I was stuck.

    You need to go through all the dialogue possibilities with the girl for the new ship (I don't remember her name), the quest should validate after that even if you already got the ship.
