Foundry Is Up..... but I CTD when I try to start the editor

I can get into foundry but when I choose a mission to start editing the game crashed to the desktop. I tried doing a scan of all files, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Any thoughts on what might be keeping me out of the foundry?

16JUL13 Update: I can get into Foundry but it crashes to desktop every time I try to access the editor to edit a mission. Its not computer side, a friend tried logging onto his account on my computer and could work foundry just fine.

    Lots of people are having that problem, myself included. I think it's just a bug.

    It should work after a few tries.

    I've been having the same trouble too. I actually got in a couple of times and set some missions to publish only to come back 75 minutes later to find that it failed to publish.

    I think either the Foundry server is being taxed too hard or the server has some error in the coding of the compiler or both.

    There are a few other threads going on this. Cryptic let us know that they're passing on the info to get worked on.
    AKA @contactpsi. Foundry Author of: "No Prize for Second Contact", "Welcome to the Milky Way", and "The Tyranny of Hope".

    I noticed that it gets stuck on 75% of publishing and sticks to that for a very long time and then it fails to publish.

    Now it tells me that the Foundry editing is down, again.

    He's got the same as me (We're in the same fleet) just a pop up that says "Foundry Editing is Unavailable." I thought that was across the board, but, is it only happening to a few accounts? Can you edit stuff right now Zorb?

    Maybe it has to do with free versus paid accounts?

    That's a possibility, but it is also we are dealing with a very specific bug/error with the CTDs. Perhaps if it is a problem with our foundry editing files we're flagged not to edit so the problem doesn't get worse?

    You and I had the same initial error, and this follow up one, so I'd guess they are the biggest commonality.

    Did you guys disable on-demand patching

    Worst case scenario you could re-install STO and see what happens

    I did not disable the on-demand, and I also tried using a second computer so chances are the re-install would not help if it didn't work on both machines.

    I've had far fewer slowdowns and foundry crashes since I disabled on demand patching.... then again... it seems to have heptupled the time it takes to do regular patches.

    Ok, have disabled on-demand patching and have been able to log in to the foundry now. I can see my missions but when I try to launch one for editing, I crash out. Every time. If I try to create a new one,, I get the same issue.

    I know this is associated with my account, because my friend came over and logged on to his account on my computer and was able to access the foundry no problem. He crashes, rarely.

    I have tried deleting most of my foundry missions to see if that helped, and it doesn't.

    Is this because I have a free account and he has a paid account?

    This has become frustrating beyond all and I'm about two shakes away from putting a freeze on any money I spend on this game until its fixed. Cripes, I would just be happy with a dev or admin at least acknowledging that there are people, even if its just me, that cannot access the foundry.

    Is it with a KDF character? it seems like there might be a propblem with KDF foundry toons

    Was with me, I'll try my Fed foundry guy and see if it makes a diff when I get home.

    confirmed:

    using fed character was able to open fed mission
    using kdf character crashed on opening kdf mission

    oddly enough, I was able to open the KDF mission with the FED character and no crash.
