I would like to see a blog done on who ideas go from just an idea to the final piece of work in the game. A good example of what I mean would be, the Vesta Class starship. From start to finish. What did it take to get the Vesta in STO? Again, the Vesta is just a good example but this could be applied to any ship, canon voice actors, bug fixes, mission storyboards, and anything else related to Star Trek Online. The process in general is what interests me. If there are differences for ships versus mission or properties like Starfleet Academy, voice overs and other things. Pick one or give us the general idea of what it takes to take an idea from the idea state to the final implementation of getting it into the game itself.

A blog related to the Future of Foundry Development.
The "Roadmap to the Foundry" stickied post here in the forums is full of half realized plans and promises from ages ago. One would think that the plans have changed, based on all the things we have never seen from that roadmap. Isn't time to admit that after 28 months, those plans may never come to fruition? Isn't it time to create a new 'roadmap', one with an honest evaluation of what the Foundry community can expect going forward?
So, yeah, a blog regarding the future of the Foundry would be awesome.
Bug hunting, Playerfeedback on Testservers & all that stuff
There appear to be a certain amount of players(I admit, I'm one of them) that think Cryptic is not very enthusiastic on the fixing side of the game (unless its massive game breaking errors). Make a blog about that to tell your side of this.

The tool has been "In Beta" for two and a third years.
28 + months.
For Cryptic, What does "In Beta" mean?
Can we ever expect the tool will be declared out of beta and live?

This would be a great idea for a dev blog. I'd also like to suggest a topic that would maybe appeal to more of the player base (I know Foundry authors are probably a smaller group).
I'd like to see a blog about how the devs go about balancing the game/theorycrafting. The running joke is that STO is really Escorts Online or DPS is King Online. How do you react to that? Do you plan to address it? When you release new ships, kits, powers, etc. how do you decide to balance it against the rest of the game? Do you just go "MOAR DPS!!!!" or is there a balance factor involved?
Maybe something explaining why certain bridge officers can't be modified. My main character, a Fed, has not one but two Orions on her crew and I can make them look however I want, but my main KDF character, an Orion, has an Andorian on her crew and I can't even change her skin tone or face, let alone her uniform. My Fed also has a Romulan from the embassy, and she can't be customized, yet my Romulan has Fed officers, and they can. And same with the Reman from Cloaked Intentions. And I allied my Romulan with the Federation, so when her diplomacy is maxed she'll be able to modify her Orion, but if I ally my Reman with the KDF like I may, her marauding officer won't be able to be customized, but am guessing any KDF officers she gets like the one that gets offered up right away can. And then there's the holographic science officer. The Doctor on Voyager was seen wearing many different things, yet 40 years later our hologram can't?

Topic : ship weapons,
I love by quad phasers cannons but It does restrict me to phasers because of it. Are there any plans to roll out other quad cannon weapon types?
Has dina Meyer been considered to reprise her role as commander Donatra for sto? She could easy be a friend to the Klingons and federation and would be a welcomed addition to the continuing LoR content.
Or what about a community ship design for a Donatra class ship.

Maybe something from the ship artists detailing how they make the ships and also how they miss glaring errors like half the windows missing or phaser strips running across escape pods (Thunderchild saucer I'm looking at you).
How about a blog on Cryptic's internal testing and quality control practices? We've made many harsh jokes over the years about it (or lack of...). How about some insight on how the internal processes work.
I would like to see a blog about what the devs are going to add to each of the factions (ships, missions, etc.) or for all three factions (FE, STF'S, fleet actions, etc..)
I would like to see a blog on Duty Officers and the changes they will be making later on this year as stated in recent interviews by Dan Stahl. If this is chosen as the blog entry, perhaps include tie-ins to exploration and the Gateway.
I would like to see a blog post about unannounced changes to the game, the two I'm thinking of in particular are the mail box attachment limit and the auto ban script.
I'd like to know why the decision was made to bring these in, and why it was decided not to inform the player base before the change was implemented.
@Branflakes: Since you're basically trying to reboot the Dev-player communication lines by retiring the Ask Cryptic and coming up with other variations, perhaps you should reboot everything right from the beginning.
The first new communique should be a blog about the forums itself, how important it is to properly search the forums before posting and also how important it is to the feedback process that player submit threads into the right subsection of the forums.
I understand you're still in the process of restructuring the forums and combining, expanding, and adding new subsections but once LOR was first announced there have been a lot of new players posting on the forums and even more since LOR launched. While this explosion of new forums users is great, there are common sense etiquette and rules that are being routinely ignored or blatantly broken. I know the mods are trying their best to keep everything organized as best as possible, but the forums are becoming a cluttered mess of Hoarder: buried alive proportions. The fault lays on players not knowing or following proper procedures, so perhaps a blog about this would be the best solution as the more cluttered the forums become the more things that slip by the appropriate people.
If you're going to mess with the forums start by banning about a quarter of the people that are posting, and instead of encouraging people to start 87 threads on one topic, get over this thread necromancy is evil nonsense.
As for a blog topic, the first one should be "we made a bunch of money off LOR and this is a list of the QA staff we are hiring with that money". Some transparency that their have been serious issues, and transparency that something will be done to improve the situation is all I'm interested in hearing. If it's just more variants of commercials I'm not interested.

I'd like to add an additional vote requesting dstahl explain how the "next fleet holding" (ie the Dilithium Mine) is supposed to help small fleets.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

What do you do with our bug reports on Tribble and on Holodeck? Why are there still bugs on Holodeck, that already reported on Tribble?

Why stop at lunch? How about breakfast? I would like to know how our esteemed EP starts out the day, ready for success. :P
