TRIBBLE Maintenance and Release Notes - June 17, 2013

We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
ST.31.20130609a.9

General:
  • Dilithium Mine
    • All discounts in the Dilithium Mine have been improved:
      • Tier 1 4%
      • Tier 2 9%
      • Tier 3 15%
    • Players can no longer fire their weapons on the exterior map.
    • Mission and contact text has been updated.
    • The transwarp properly unlocks.
    • The exterior death volume no longer extends into the second floor of the mine.
    • The fleet store discount now applies to the Klingon Fleet Duty Officer Store.
  • Updated the requirements on the Dithium Mine daily mining missions.
  • Adjusted the locations of several asteroids that collided with players on warp in to the system.
  • The Tholian Recluse may no longer launch twice as many Jem'hadar fighter pets as intended.
  • Temporal Beacons now require the player to be Level 11 to access their Duty Officer Assignments.

Known Issues:
  • When you beam down to your Dilithium Mine you will end up on the exterior. Bring a sweater! Or an EV suit.

    First,

    and a nice update, the discounts feel more like an actual discount now. The 9% does not divide very easy but getting to tier 3 now feels like something meaningful.

    Is the dominion fighters and frigates in this version, i keep lookin for them in patch notes but there never there as a fix for not showing up in dil store on holo. Also i bet they havent fixed the frosted boots animation yet either.

    Are these cumulative totals? Or do those numbers stack? (Eg, does a completed tier 3 mine offer a total 15%, or total 28% discount?)

    no, they don't stack...you honestly think cryptic would let you have a discount of 28%?

    Since you are decreasing the inputs by 4/9/15% why don't you increase the Fleet Credit rewards by 4/9/15% to help counter the reduced credits that will be available for larger fleets to fight over.

    Only thing missing is the patch note stating "Dilithium requirements removed from all Dilithium Mine projects" or at least the upgrade projects, 1200 XP projects, and 500 XP projects.

    So to make sure..the updated percentages are cumulative?

    As in Tier 1s grant 4%, Tier 2 grants an additional 5% for 9% total, etc.?

    Betting 99.9999% yes but checking for info from those who have seen it on Tribble.

    Can we get a fix to the technician Doffs granting bonus auxiliary power when a ship cloaks so that Doffs of the same quality can stack together?

    I've got two very rares that should give me +25 bonus auxiliary power while cloaked, and it even displays so in the tooltip, and they're obviously allowed to stack together... but the end result is +25 rather than +50.

    I am able to use a rare and very rare together, though, for a total of 40 bonus auxiliary power (+15+25=40). But using both my very rares and my rare only results in 40.

    As much as a I enjoy seeing a new holding being added and balanced. We still have many bug problems I wish would be addressed. This mindset of new, new, new, doesn't placate the attention completely. My Orion Slavers have been broken for almost a month, that's thousands of dilithium I've lost since LoR released. If broken any longer, I'll be moving all my KDF toons in carriers onto other ships. I really hate complaining and whining, but this is a huge loss in the quality of the game for me. It seems the only way to garner attention to these issues is the spam the forums.

    Larger fleets will have two additional project tabs to facilitate donation spamming. That's a fairly sizable increase, no? Something like a 40% increase in their rate of fleet credit generation. Ya, it'll have the 15% discount slowing it down a bit, but I think you should still end up ahead.

    Definitely much better than it was, so thanks for that. I still think it's a little on the low side, and with such awkward numbers.

    Why can't you just do 5/10/20? Please? Nice compromise!

    I certainly appluade this move and hope that you were able to see my last post in the patch updates indicating how this would greatly increase demand for this discount/holding and greatly decrease player discontent with the new holding.

    As I said in that post upping it to 15% is on par with where consumers perceive they are getting a real discount - below that it's percieved as a rip-off.

    I tip my hat to you guys for making the change - it WILL be well received!!

    Not in the least. Break even point for the current pricing was 17%. This is still making the grind even harder.

    No, it wont. See above. It's yet another smokescreen obscuring the fact that Cryptic is either incapable, or unwilling, to lessen the starbase grind in any meaningful way.

    Increasing the discount is a good first step. However, this still doesn't make starbase advancement significantly easier for small fleets, as Stahl promised in several interviews.

    embassy and dilithium mine projects cost fleet credits directly

    Personally I think it would be lovely to have a single input project in the 4th slot of the embassy and mine, for example:

    fleetmark only
    doff only
    replicable commodity only
    expertise only (the rate on this should probably go down to drain us more, like 50 or 100exp to 1fc)

    of course none of these projects should earn base xp

    My Advanced Slavers seem to be working fine, they stole 2 stacks of 6 Contraband in a STF recently and tend to steal small amounts of Commodities semi-regularly.

    Are they giving any sort of indication that they are bugged and you're not just really unlucky, like 'Inventory Full' messages?

    Is this 17% figure just taking into account the Dilithium you would save? Does it take into account all the Fleet marks, commodities, doffs etc - that people will save having the mininig holding?

    Even if true that means that this new holding is almost "free" - with all it's extra's - if it were done long before the end of starbase construction vs not doing it at all.

    I would call that a significant improvement.

    it's staggered to increase it bonus 1% added to the next level

    4+1 = 5

    5+4 = 9

    5+1= 6

    9+6 = 15%

    No it's called extra incentive to get the next tier - as opposed to stopping at 1 or 2 which cost less than moving to 3.

    I'll run another test to confirm myself, but I've got one contraband in said toons inventory. So not having inventory space shouldn't be an issue, since they stack.

    It's a confirmed bug, I haven't seen a fix on holodeck. Are your slavers stealing on Tribble or Live or Both.

    EDIT: Tested on holodeck, after 17 minutes they stole 440 EC. I hope the nerf wasn't to the frequency.

    Why does a dilithium mine need dilithuim? It's like saying a gun needs another gun to shoot. Makes no sense.

    I am pleasantly surprised that Cryptic decided to increase the 3-6-9 percent discounts to 4-9-15 percent. Bravo :D

    In fairness to Cryptic, the dilithium mine upgrades cost no dilithium, only the development and trade tracks. This actually reduces the total costs to maxing it by about half.

    Just wondering, what would happen if the discounts were staggered a bit more exponentially (if that's the right word) to favour smaller fleets (what this fleet holding was supposed to address).

    So 15% is max for T3, ok, what if you make T1 say 8% and T2 12%?
    Just thinking, smaller fleets (including mine) are going to be stuck in lower tiers (likely T2) for much longer (indefinitely) than large ones that'll hit T3 as soon as the timers run out anyway.

    So why not weight the discounts towards the lower end, so fleets without big fleet resources get larger discounts over a longer period of time? THIS would be how you'd benefit smaller fleets better imo.
