Starbase Depositories

Wouldn't it be great if you could deposit resources into a starbase now rather than trying to store them for later? For example, everyone has many unwanted Science doffs they don't need. Why not have a system were fleet members can deposit doffs/dilithium/etc. into a one-way account for their fleet star base ahead of time? Then when the fleet leader starts a new task they can spend the doffs out of the depository account. This would be great because rather than having to try to mail the doffs to yourself or throw them away you could just apply them towards your fleet's future growth. This would also resolve the issue with some people not getting to contribute as much as they would like.

Thoughts?

For a second I thought you asked for a sb suppository. :D

Several people in my fleet have come up with that idea as well. I personally think it would be a great system.

The only issue would be what if someone put in science doffs and then the fleet never ran a project that needs science doffs, what happens?

Looks like there would be a science doff credit until they were spent either on a new fleet asset like a colony or using them on a task that uses any Doff.

Gotta get rid of the crappy fleet members somehow. ;)

If your fleet's projects are full now, with people waiting with their finger on the button to fill them as soon as a new one starts, then any additional storage would be exactly the same. It would benefit those who first filled it up, after which everyone would be back to waiting with their finger on the button to fill it again whenever a new project starts and the stored resources are used. It would solve nothing.

The only way to let people actually contribute more, is to have more things to contribute to. Fortunately, the next fleet holding is on its way.
