I would laugh, a lot, if it turns out to be a shuttle. As far as I can remember there's never been a shuttle reward for one of these events. It kind of looks shuttle-like anyway.

That's probably a good guess. Think about it, they have to make this available to the Klignons as well or else, their crys will be heard for days & nights. But it can't be a vessel with real combat capabilities, more likely only minimal self defense powers. To do that, it can't be a regular Starfleet combat vessel but more like a leisure vehicle as opposed to a military vessel.
as it turns out, yes, the the risian corvette is OP and needs a nerf. the mogie retrofit station setup with a 21 turn rate? this is bug ship tier. you could even run a 2 AtB setup on it and still have HE1. its sorta fragile sure, but you wont have to put any turn consoles on it like you would other escorts. dil mine neutroniums would be perfect for this thing.
you could proboly get away with not running EPtE on it too if its just going to have that high of an impulse mod, and be faster then even the bug ship. the bug ships impulse mod was proboly the number 1 thing that pushed it to a higher tier then the rest, people running EPtE post LoR should clearly see just how powerful a stat speed can be.

It could be nasty, but unlike the JHAS it actually has drawbacks. It is pretty squishy, and it doesn't have 5 tac consoles. This is probably closer to what the JHAS should be.

lol, are you implying an escort that can comfortably use a 2 AtB build is weaker? it can cause cruisers to be more fragile but on escorts it just makes them more awesome.
pre LoR, escorts that could use it had some pretty major built in down side, like turn rate or the steamy being a very tight fit, but with all the romulan retrofits escortish warbirds that can use it, and this turn monster that can use it, its nothing but the best way to make these ships thier most dangerous.
what ive argued in the past balanced AtB builds is sort of unraveling with the romulan faction.

in case anyone was wondering, the 2 AtB steamy is a terror because it can have APO3, CRF2, and BO3/HY3 at their system cooldowns. wile also having room for CSV, and a TS/a target subsystem skill for when the situation calls for it. its still got 2 different EPt skills and HE at least! nothing can brutalize with the strongest tac skills at that often an interval as the steamy, wile also being able dish out AOE when needed. its helpful to have a good healer around though, this is not the attrition build of choice.
Regardless of it's in game effectiveness, we've essentially been given a speedboat as a ship with the flimsiest of pretenses. I mean seriously, what the heck?
.25 impulse mod is absolutley ridiculous, especially with the way EPTE and impulse thrusters have been buffed.
I have been running a max speed build on my bugship for a few days now for lulz and I can just imagine even how much more absurd speeds I'll be able to maintain with this.
Right now I am running 2x APO, EPTE 1, Aux2ID 1, 3 purple evasive doffs, and 2 purple damage control doffs, and engine power core with [SEP] [W->E] [ECap], and deuterium.
I can permanently stay at over 150 speed while running max weapons by cycling my buffs, so its like permanent full impulse during combat. If use them all at once, close to 300 speed for a few seconds, even more with deuterium but I don't want to waste it to test.
This is already OP, I am immune to pretty much any movement debuffs, and pretty much immune to dying unless they get lucky enough to time the subnuc the split second they might have me in their arc then manage to CC me before I get another movement buff up.
So if I run that same build on the Corvette but instead now have EPTE3 it will be just that much more OP, maybe you will be able to maintain 200 speed.

This is very impressive indeed, a dedicated speed build. I have seen this before, maybe that was you or another Bug using a similar approach - it died however. You see, Graviton pulse will stop you cold, APO or not. Well timed subnuke as you just begin an APO will do too. Finally, I have been experimenting with a new attack pattern against escorts who like to tail their target - Nukara web mines w/ dispersal patterns, it's a perfect bug catcher. . Seeing how Bug flies right into them, trapped & died, be careful, more speed may be your undoing. Last not least, beware if your opponent fires weapon with 100% accuracy that simply can't be dodged even if your speed is 1000.

I totally agree. While aux2bat has both advantages and disadvantages, it definately makes some builds genuinly good. Not saying 'best', but different and better in some aspects. I also found out that some, and most good vaping Romulan builds dont work so well with aux2bat, especially because it tends to TRIBBLE with cloaks.
Even SCI abilities that are based on aux and are only effective with high aux can still be used to an extend with an aux bat right before using it, and a battery cooldown doff. (Purple plz)

nearly. the high turn rate is all its missing really. 19 would be appropriate, nothing has 19 turn
