How long before you can list itesm on exchange

I have a friend who says anything he post on the exchange is not selling. So I went to the exchange and asked him to tell me an item he has listed, its price and of course what it is. I cannot find it. I then asked a few members in my fleet to also look for it and they also reported the item is no where to be found under any quality. I then asked her to give me a screen shot of the items she posted. Not one of those items show up anywhere on the exchange under any rarity or category. Now she is f2p as am I. I don't remember that far back if I was restricted to posting on the exchange.

I told her to look at the f2p matrix and she said nothing was there. She did remind me in her mail, she can't send anything to anyone as it says that she has Xhrs Xm, must buy, or something else before she can send things. Is the exchange working under the same policy (also she can't for some reason post to the forum) that she needs to accumulate 24 hrs of playtime before she can sell things?

Be great if someone knew the answer so I could at least share it with her. She is frustrated (especially since I recommended her to try STO). Note some of the items were items I would get that were drops I didn't need and thought I would let her sell them to start earning some EC.

    Well, first off chances are he is selling too expensive...

    Also, the exchange is bugged, so if you are not putting up detailed filters when searching, you will not find it all.

    And finally... Don't even bother putting Common items other than DuOff's on the exchange...
    Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

    you have to se rareity to see the actual price of things for some reason there 2 sets of items.

    cheaper items will always be shown when u do a proprer search

    You can start selling immediately. postings for common items are harder to find and pinpoint. white and green gear imo rarely sell. your friend is probably better off vendoring. i would suggest exchange listing blues and purples only. the exchange listings are capped at 400 results as well, so if the price of the item you are trying to sell falls outside of that range, then it will not show as well.

    honestly, it's probably more profitable to play through the levels first and play the exchange later. that is unless you find something very nice, then by all means list it. make sure you do your due diligence a to researching the price out said item and other like items. you could potentially be giving away a fortune if you're not careful. lastly, be mindful of the 10 million ec cap. if you find something worth that or more, save it until you can buy the unlock.

    Okay an item I gave to her were three of my not needed datachip from the academy as I saw some people were paying for them on the exchange. Now unless I am misinformed, aren't those common items, so if one does a search for that item under the any quality, it should show. It isn't a ranked based item (Lt, Lt. Cmdr, etc.). As far as I know it also isn't a rare, very rare, or uncommon colored item. As I mentioned I had some very smart and experienced players I knew in and outside of my fleet who are on my friends list check for me to make sure my account isn't bugged or I just don't know how to search for the item.

    So I will give you a great way to look for this. She told me she posted Vol 2, Chapter 2 on the exchange for 60K as that was what it was avg. when she posted it. I have checked and see that prices have changed and now there is a huge gap between about 20k and 90k. Perhaps that is why she put it at 60k. So if I am searching wrong for it, can someone else do the search and tell me if they see it and if so what am I doing wrong in the search.

    I should have been more precise: By common item, I mean easily obtainable. While you can get one data chip pr day, its not sure it just the one you want... So it becomes somewhat uncommon

    datachips are found under personal equipment, personal devices. volume 2, chapter 2 is currently on sale for the very low price of 75 ec

    If you do the Path to 2409 during the Event, you get 2 data chips.

    There is no way I would ever pay 60K for a datachip I could possibly get tomorrow for free.

    It's quite likely one of the exchange bugs and a very annoying one at that, I have been using the exchange for along time and always putting items on there, I would say nearly half the stuff I put on there doesn't even show up at all on the exchange, then some of it will appear a few days later, some just gets returned unsold a week later even though the same items are on there selling at a higher price.

    I also did a test and put an item on there for 1 EC that was worth just under a mill at the time as it got returned to me 2 weeks in a row unsold even though it was a lot cheaper than the others on there, and surprise surprise it got returned to me a week later unsold.

    So it seems certain items that are not visable after being put on the exchange will randomly appear a day or so later or just not appear at all and you'll get them returned unsold in the mail a week later.
