torpedo autotargeting and other sea of issues

sometimes it's impossible to target anything apart your own torpedoes, I'm sick of wasting abilities on them, I'm sick of constantly loosing current target, because I just fired a torpedo

second thing is this speed boost NPC's got lately, they seem to fly around, during combat on full impulse, sometimes so fast they can do 2-3 full circles around you before you do one, btw I fly maneuverable ship, with mid-high engine power setting so it's not the issue here, I'm no slow dreadnought to be outmaneuvered - but NPC can sometimes instantly "jump" distances like 5-10km, whenever self guided torpedo is after them, seriously

it basically turns space gameplay into nightmare

I wrote about it right after LOR got launched, I wrote about some of it during beta on tribble
we'd seen many patches since that time and nothing had been fixed, at least acknowledge this bugs please

    I've been having the same issue. My torpedoes get targeted no matter how far away it gets from me, one was 12km away.

    As for the NPC flying around like crazy, the only thing I can do to slow them down is use tractor beams, warp plasma or torpedoes that slow them down. The NPC's seem to go way faster than my TAC escort refit using Evasive Maneuvers III with all power to engines.

    These things are getting very annoying.

    I have had a similar problem with the romulan hyper-plasma torpedoes. abilities like Tactical Team and Hazard emitters are usually wasted on torpedoes. This is an effect of the LoR updates which allowed projectiles to be more easily targeted and hit.

    Obviously that one backfired.

    As far as the NPC escort class ships with insane speed and maneuverability, that is also a LoR effect that increased the effectiveness of EPtEngines. In theory, if you had an XII [speed]x3 engine and used EPtEngines 2 you should be able to keep up, but who wants to do that? The fact is that NPCs are stupid and just end up flying in circles, or into gates. In my opinion, these changes negatively affect gameplay.

    I had always wondered what space combat would be like if the NPC ships moved faster... nothing good, apparently. Maybe speed shouldn't affect defense values as much as it does to compensate. Or perhaps NPCs shouldn't be affected as much by EptE as players? Or maybe the projectiles need to move faster? Duration of speed needs to be reduced? Or the magnitude needs to taper off (Big speed burst at the start of the ability, smaller boost at end)?
