Unlock ship pieces

I was just curious about if it had been thought out to allow players to buy ship pieces. What I mean is this. A player wants the nacelle from the Venture class. He doesn't want to buy the Venture ship from the C-store. He can pay a small fee to unlock just the nacelles to use on his ship. A player could then piecemeal the ship if he wanted. Of course, using this option would have some drawbacks. 1) It would be a character unlock (don't see this as a problem because my Tac wouldn't want the same stuff my Eng does). 2) It would not qualify for the fleet version discount. 3) You would not receive the console.

Any thoughts from players / devs welcomed.

    Though this would greatly increase the complexity of the number of C-Store items that would need be tracked in relation to the User's account parameters. And the resulting increase of C-Store purchases that would result would be very small.

    Is it really worth the time and trouble to implement this, considering the chances of introducing more C-Store bugs in the process?
