Fed Rom can't use T5 Fed ships

I have my Romulan leveled up to 50 now, but I can't claim any T5 Fed ships I have unlocked.

    its not a bug, its by design, you can only use romulan t4/5 ships and lock box ships that aren't specific to fed or kdf.

    Oh...that doesn't make any sense. I can access the Fed ships up until then. What's the point of allying? This has to be a bug. I thought the whole point of having the Romulans ally with a faction in game was so that you could access that sides stuff?

    It's not a bug. This has been said even before LoR launched on multiple occasions.

    So yeah, now you wish you went klink huh... :cool:

    The point of allying is to keep up the two-faction PvP and give the Romulans instant access to high-level fleets and the C-Store consoles of one faction.
    FKA K-Tar, grumpy Klingon/El-Aurian hybrid. Now assimilated by PWE.

    That makes even less sense, you can use the consoles but not the ships?!

    But how would you use the consoles, if you can't claim the ships?

    because not all consoles come from those ships, lower tier ships have consoles too.

    Tier 4 are Captain(Romulan Commander rank) ships. T5 ships are for ranks with Admiral/General in their name.

    Simple reason: Most of the T5 consoles are bound to their ships. You can't use the ablative hull generator on a Galaxy or saucer separation on an Intrepid. The T1-T4 consoles all can be removed from their ships and put into others.

    So I understand that this isn't a bug and i'm sorry for cluttering the bug forum but......even if it's a console issue, I still don't understand why those ships are inaccessible. I seriously can't see any possible reason why all of a sudden the ships from your ally faction suddenly stop being available.

    Am I missing something?

    because if you could fly any ship form your allies, fed or kdf, as a romulan, then there wouldn't be any reason to make fed or kdf characters


    everybody would be playing as a romulan.

    That's why you don't have acces to Tier V ships

    What's the point of making a Romulan if you want him to fly Federation ships?
    I think them restricting Romulans from using another factions T5s was a good idea.
    If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

    Not a bug because too many whiners on the forums screamed about how wrong it would be for Romulans to fly T5 Fed ships (as you can see in this thread). Strangely I don't recall many complaining about T5 KDF ships. Cryptic decided to give in and changed their minds about it before LoR launched.

    It sucks because I was looking forward to using a Heavy Escort Carrier on my Reman.

    If it's any piece of mind to you, Feds and KDF can't use ANY Romulan ships (Except those Tal'shiar ships from the lockbox and Lobi store.) At least Romulan faction characters can use T4 and below while leveling up. Lot of good that does because Romulan ships are going to be better with that battle cloak and singularity abilities.

    What doesn't even make more sense is, why would you create a romulan that just use federation ships? Why not make a fed character that looks like a romulan or remen? Romulan racial traits doesn't benefit fed ships

    That is NOT the reason. Rather it is because if a Romulan could fly all the allied ships and all the Romulan ships, no one would ever make anything but Romulans.

    And would you allow KDF/Feds to fly Warbirds in return? Then far fewer people would have rolled new Romulan characters.

    Sigh... I had such high Hopes for the Romulan faction.

    I am constantly amused that we see these threads... "I want my Romulan to fly a <insert fed/kdf T5 ship>", or the "I want my Fed to fly <insert Warbird>".

    As other have stated, why create a Romulan if you want to fly Federation ships... Why create Fed character if you want to fly Romulan ships...

    I have a hard time calling the Romulan's a faction... to me they are more of a playable species with a some ships of their own.

    What we should be asking for is "I want a ROMULAN fleet" a third faction not dependent on others...

    The argument that this ally concept gave them immediate access to high tier fleets, is somewhat laughable... the same argument could then be made to say ... well there are Tier 5 fleets now, no need to ever start another fleet... since you'd actually have to level it

    To those who were waiting for the Romulans... I'd be pissed that you cant have a Romulan Starbase... Or team with your brothers and sisters against the Feds or KDF (whomever you choose).

    Lets be honest - the Romulan faction works just like the real world and allies. You support them, you give them tech - but you don't let them touch or look at your top of the line equipment, let alone give it to them.

    The Federation isn't going to turn an Odyssey class strarship with it's advanced transwarp drive over to an unstable and barely legitimate ally. Just like the Romulans won't give the Federation or KDF their top of the line capital ship capable battle cloaks.
