New season! less Healers in pvp, I'm a dying breed!

Please give to charity to blood so I shall save my spacebar from hurting more in pvp matches!

On a serious note as-well, can't left click team members in the team status bar, healers are dying off due to this new bug :(

And that is what happens when tac captains keep getting their way becuase of PvP whining their way while poor sci captains get their skills nerfed.

The PvE folks tend not to like when you point that out. :(

They're probably having a meeting right now and then they'll invade the thread to say it's not because of PvE whining...meh.

Frankly, I think the only sound advice that one can give new players at this time is to stay away from PVP in STO.

healboats just dont bring as much to non premades as they used too. every ship can run the same basic heals, and with more and more diverse station setups, and resistance levels, and insta spike, most of the time your healthy or dead, its rare to be in between. actual hitpoint numbers are so low that its real easy to insta heal with very little cross healing.

plus eng captains just suck, fed cruiser damage dealing gets out regenerated, and since theres only a few good sci skills, most sci ships can slot mainly heals, a little CC, wile also coordinate subnukes with escorts.

the result is the most iconic star trek ships, the cruisers, are totally pointless. only the battle cruisers are entertaining as tactical ships

Why bother healing when the Mogai/Valdore console exists?

Actually, the fix to this isn't too reinvent everything to fit in arenas. There need to be more pvp game modes and reasons to fly then over arenas. Modes where raw healing power is more important, perhaps, though out a team. I'm thinking attack vs defence, with one group trying to keep something (like a star base?) alive

As somebody (in the minority and some say delusional) that's generally opposed to the space clerics flying around the star forest waving their dilithium wands and healing that we have in the game...well, I still like the idea of a PvP version of SB24/fleet starbase defense. Though do you run the risk of it being something akin to what happened with SotA?

With the current way of PvPing, and the majority of the ships in cloak, perhaps a dedicated tanker Engi could become useful again.

If all 10 players in a match are cloaked, and nobody wants to decloak...

    Just think about it.

The healers are all going to be busy respawning to Romulan alphastrikes if they aren't Scis and didn't spend 10 USD for the snooper console to detect their cloaks.

You know, I made some PvE people rage in the Romulan forums just by pointing that out. They think it's working as intended that a single console makes shield healing powers redundant. Combine this with the 2-piece Borg bonus and you won't have to bother with healing at all in PvE.

I constantly create shield heals between 10k-50k to all facings with this console. It's so broken I had to put it off my Mogai because it felt like cheating in PvP.

Oh yeah, the healing it does on Tacs is crazy good.

Elite STFs are already a joke, this console makes them even more so.

Those failboat users who run dual RSPs have another crutch to fallback on.

I would love to play my healer more often in pvp but I have to grind reputation for my new romulan toon. Oh and nukara rep for my old chars.

And the left clicking bug just sucks.

My stomach is clear and my mind is full of bacon!

I loved to play healer, hell most of my toons to the date were eng/cruiser captains.

Since S7 there is little point, and less with every new update. Frnkly - when escort can keep itself alive with passives, consoles and elite/whatever shield/weapon proc; and sci can add to this low rank slots with pretty good HoTs why should one bother with it? One reason less to even try VA PvP when you want to fly eng.

Low rank is a bit different cause there is no endgame stuff, but then most people read this forum and know that they will be useless once they jit VA. And most is not constantly rerolling to stay on low levels. So...

I like my sci to be cc first. But with the kick in the nuts of most high level sci powers... Having all my engs be healers and my sci focus on healing as well is just too limiting. Also for all the rep BS i need to PvE, what good is my healer there (except for CE)? iTs just no fun taking 15 min for something my offensive guy can do in 5.

So in short: Everything is WAD, balance sweetspot is achieved. Systems has created the form of lolspace they always seem to have wanted. My toons are boxed....

    Happy pew pew everyone.

I still have a healboat around complete with an eng captain in defiance of current balance as and when I'm not in a DPS cruiser mood, also for when I am feeling really defiant and/or evil I have a disable sci.

The funny thing from my point of view is that all three of these are far more fun than my DPS tac/scort

I hate my ship....I loath these DHC and turrets and I hate being a Red shirt.

Unfortunately for me I like to PvP.

The ships that MADE Star Trek are the worst class ships in the game.
