If you havent realized what potential options exist to further your success in your adventures throughout the galaxy pvp and otherwise, try not to project that failure and blame others FOR doing what you can/ choose not to.
Every cognizant adult is capable of digging through the trash heap that is sto and finding either treasures or shameful garbage they chose to exploit for benefit over others. Are some so naive to imagine this wouldnt translate into meta?
If you arent running 2+ screens actively parsing and running a successful control implementation scheme (macro or manual), you will be left behind. The new age, the game has just begun.
Let our slave lords not fail to provide a worthy cage match for cathartic release.
I challenge the AI of the master scripter and the finger of the true skills leet player!!
The game provides much which users know not, or care not about- a myriad breadth of options hidden just under the surface, concealed by ignorance and naivete- and ultimately by the shroud of 'I can't be bothered'- but make no mistake, such options exist.
Some bear the sword of the gaming keyboard, to better execute repetitive tasks when the mind or body cannot.
Others bear an armor of ill will and certain fortitude, dulled to the monotony of cyclical ability spamming, and thus able to master it through press after press.
Some are able of mind, and forethought, and do bring masterful builds to the battlefield.
While others are the fast reactors, the three dimensional thinkers, and move- boldly- in new directions, taking even weakness and turning it into strength.
The future is not defined by your archaic notions of 'fairness', by your self-imposed limits and flaws. It is written- not by those who would decry skill, or planning, natural talent or pure guts- but by those possessed of any of those traits, and the boldness to strike forward across the debuffs of despair.
You think that the game has changed, because you have seen an animal appear from outside your secure cage of illusions, piercing through your structural ignorance field like the lance of a Galaxy X. That animal is different, and strange- so you call it false, you decry its skill or talent, or natural ability, and you say that truly it must be cheating, it must be cast out because you know not, and care not, that it has mastered its own cage- and the greater cage beyond.
You simply want it gone, so that you can go back to the ignorance you wallowed in before.
But I denounce that concept- I say no, for though you desperately reroute auxillary power to your structural ignorance field, your shields are down and we, the bold fighters and movers of the future, have a subnucleonic beam primed and ready.
Throw away your preconceptions, your delusions, and your self-centered grandeur- tear down the bulkheads of the hull of your fear. Instead reach out with the deflector, the sensor scan of study, and learn from this. Challenge yourself, challenging death, to learn and grow and free yourself from the shackles of your ignorance.
Become a son of the future, a glorious warrior challenging hate and ignorance, death and despair- and moving forward into a bright future of freedom and equality for all.
Or you could stop with the macros, the exploit builds, the gaming hardware and actually do some work to make your ship perform in combat.
Winning in PvP is a lot more rewarding when you know you've done it through true skills gained from months of practice, not relying on some broken OP mechanic to do insane damage or a button pusher to make your buffs and heals pop off at exactly the right second.

If only cryptic would remove the "chance of success roll" everytime i push the button, so that i can be sure that when i push a button at the right time and the skill goes on CD, that the skill has actually been activated.
UUUPS new UI, but who cares about functional updates.

Come on dude, its only 2013.
Do you really expect this kind of super advanced technology in a massively multiplayer online game - where you can "press" a key and have a power activate?
Some player's expectations are really out of control!!! :P
Shouldn't the question be reversed? Which game mechanic "isn't" broken now
Are all of them broken? Last legitimate concern I heard was about EPTA. Most everything else has been speculation, imo, with a lot of bugs but very few actual powers being busted.
So what happened over the weekend?
The OP was elliptically alluding to *cough* hacking that was allegedly being done via script/program.

Well I don't want to get into it as it's a sensitve topic - let's say some players were accused of using less than savory "additional" systems to augment their game.
Well it depends on how many pve ships there are. Nothing like a galx tooling around in fleet actions and lancing things while fawing and using quad cannons!
I think it comes down to a line between menial task versus dynamic action.
Menial task: Mashing spacebar constantly. Whether you do it, or have a drinking bird set up with its own keyboard to do it for you, this is a menial task that requires no thought to do. Therefore, it does not matter *how* you mash the spacebar, even if you have a drinking bird do it for you.
Dynamic Action: You've been subnuked and have to activate sci-team, or call for help if you don't have sci team. A drinking bird can't do this, but a sufficiently advanced AI could. You as a player would know if you have sci team or not, and 'know' the proper response. That response would rely on your reflexes and decision making process, not an automatic menial task like button mashing is. Therefore it is a response that only a player should be permitted to do- not an exterior AI process.

So nothing proven?
Sigh. Key binds are not hacking.
R.I.P
Nope, but that went beyond simple keybind activation.
There are further examples if you search hard enough.
as an avid gal-x user i must say not only does it have a lance, but the lance actually hits things now!
Do you even Science Bro?
But does it hit things you're targeting? :P
Bravo - that gave me my first real laugh of the day!:D
if I have to do what I, myself, consider cheating to participate then it would ruin the game for me.
I do not search.
Im lazy that way I supposse.
