First Contact missions bugged *resolved*

Currently unable to complete my first First Contact mission due to not being able to interact with any of the NPCs. Logging out and back in doesn't rectify the issue.

Whilst I've yet to try dropping and repicking the mission, I'm a little loathe to as apparently it is no longer possible to hail Starfleet for diplomatic missions and now have to travel to ESD to pick them up instead.

In any case, brief google searches reveal this was problem a couple of years ago and apparently eventually fixed, so I'm not sure if this is a recent bug or not.

I've filed a bug report in-game too.

    Exact same issue here; as far as I can tell, once I'm in the lounge I'm supposed to talk to my bridge officer before talking to the ambassador, but no conversation starts when I select the option "Talk to Bridge Officer" after the initial message from Ambassador Jiro.

    It does appear to be bugged then, yes. Mine is also not working, same issue

    I was so excited to finally make it to the tier 3 diplomatic and do the first contact missions, but I'm now having the same problem, tried dropping it and re acquiring it, and still the "talk to bridge officer" button yields no results. This was my first first contact mission, and I can't complete it. Fed character, VA. If anyone finds a work around or fix, please post it here.

    I am also having this problem. The very first First Contact Mission is bugged. Clicking on the "Talk with Bridge Member" does nothing.

    This completely derails all Envoy missions and is a total buzz kill.

    I am bumping this too......


    This is like the second time in a row a mission i try to do is bugged...


    First was the Installation 18 mission and now that i finally get to Envoy....First Contact mission is bugged too...

    As someone returning and that just bought lifetime membership this kinda sucks...

    It's not like First Contact missions is something new...

    Seems everytime Cryptic adds something ...it ruins something else.

    *bump* hoped after the new patch it will be fixed but i have been disappointed so i hope one of the forummasters will give us some answers.

    Initially, I thought this was a result of flying on a Jem'Hadar Dreadnought. The "guts" of that expensive ship are quite limited. Seems, though, that it's a universal problem. Can one of the forum moderators indicate whether or not this is being addressed?

    Same here on my Doffing Engineer.. was so looking forward to doing some 1st contacts. Like you i have tried to beam out, beam in, drop mission, pick back up. Have also tried this on different days with the same results.. or lack of. :/

    I just had this problem as well and came to the forums hoping to find a solution.

    I assumed, from the text message after the lounge scene is loaded, that we need to contact a bridge officer before we can interact with ant of the alien NPC's.

    Problem, for me, is that there are no bridge officers in the lounge with us.

    Is there some way of hailing the bridge from the lounge or otherwise making contact with absent bridge officers?

    eta: In thinking about it, there is probably another interface screen which is supposed to pop-up after clicking the Talk With Bridge Officer text-block. More than likely that is where the bug is.

    eta2: I created a ticket in-game. There didn't appear to be one created yet, by any other players. Might that mean there is no bug and we're missing something?

    Personally I'd be thrilled to have this option again.

    How did you manage to finish it?

    I left the game for awhile and just started doing the missions I had in my queue when I left. This mission was rated as Ensign level, but I left as a VA. I'm guessing that I couldn't finish it back in 2010 either.

    If you finished it, then it must not be bugged for everyone or we in this thread are doing something wrong.

    same issue fed-made ticket a week starting 3 weeks ago-but they don't show up in ticket tracer-so ticketing is also broke

    I am having the same issue and have had for some time I come back and try it every so often to see if they have fixed it and alas they haven't. No bridge officer pops up so cannot complete this mission :(

    Same issue, tried beaming out, resuming mission etc. Interestingly when i started the mission it said continue mission and i had never started. I was excited to get to tier 3, but now feel i wasted my time. ticket in, but they havent resolved my other ticket from almost a month ago so suspect they dont read em.

    No, that's how their system "works". The search option of the bug report module doesn't work, the "view your tickets" doesn't work, I wouldn't even be surprised if the bug report isn't sent despite what the system says.
    And that's not unique to STO, the bug report module of Champions Online is the same and I guess the NWO one is, as well.

    In any case, this bug is still present and, combined with all the other current bugs, is downright frustrating, especially, because it's a whole set of missions that is broken. And not common ones, ones you get from grinding tons of diplomatic assignments.

    Same issue. I'm not able to interact with anyone. Dropping the mission and attempting it again does not resolve the problem. It appears that the "bridge officer" necessary to advance the quest isn't in the room with me, and there's no way to contact them.

    Fix for the please? Thanks!

    Its a shame, that this bug still exists. Especially for players who dont want to have pew pew every time in every mission.

    To have a first contact and open a relationship with a unkown species is one of the biggest moments in a life of a starfleet captain. Exploring the stars, contact new species, thats the reason cause i become a starfleet captain.

    Same problem too.. Im really disapointed to see that after months (!) no dev or mod care for this problem. :(

    I can confirm that First Contact missions, for me, have been broken for at least 4 months now.
    Time is a funny thing; There is always too much of it. Except when you need it the most, then there is never enough.
