Mind Game Rewards Error

Hello,
I recently played the mission "Mind Game" on my level 40 romulan character, under the rewards section of this mission it was stipulated that I would receive mark x rewards my purpose for playing said mission was to update the mark of the rewards, as I was currently using older versions of them from other times I had played this mission. However I received mark viii rewards instead, was I supposed to receive this lower mark, I am planning to do the same with other missions and they all say mark x rewards so can I expect to be rewarded with mark viii equipment for those as well?
