[UI][crash][MAIL][Bridge Officer] Sending BO through in-game mail crashes game client

Trying to send a bridge officer through in-game mail crashes the game client every time.

Automatic bug reporting tool tries to find a bug ID, fails, and promptly closes.

In-game bug reporting tool comes up with 'failes to connect, try again later', so I'm trying this forum as a 3rd option.

1) open character window
2) open in-game mail client
3) select compose
4) fill in address, subject and message body if you like, this won't make a difference
5) drag a bridge officer into item slot in the mail client
6) game client crashes
7) repeat as many times as you like

The mail system apparently had its message limit reduced to a cap of 100 and it borked the hell out of it. Messages can't be deleted. They are aware of the problem and working to fix it. The crashing you are experiencing was probably caused by the changes to the system and will probably be resolved when they fix the message delete issue. Best to be patient and wait for the fix before trying to attach anything to a message like a boff or item.

I've heard of other bugs in the mail system, and it's possible it's indirectly related yes. I have exactly one message in my mailbox though, so at least I'm not over the cap.. and the bug crashes the whole game client - and happens the instant I try to place the BO into the slot. Other items do not cause the same problem.. so it's a bug specific to the bridge officers. I don't have any easy means to test if this would occur when trying to swap BOs between captains as well - it's possible that it would, so it's even possible that this bug has nothing to do with mail system specifically at all (if someone else could test this and confirm one way or the other, that would be great).

i too have just encountered this problem with trying to send a Boff to another character. And i also have an email stuck in my inbox that i cant delete.
