Tactical team, Hazard Emitters, Aux to SIF, etc., not applying when triggered

Pretty simple to reproduce, and workaround, but it's still annoying (and inconsistent). I'll upload video to YouTube in a couple hours showing exactly what I'm seeing once my timer for that STF ends. Anyway, steps to reproduce:

1. Target a cube/Donatra.
2. Take aggro (not hard, if you're the only one shooting at it).
3. Pop buffs like tac team, emergency power to shields, hazard emitters, etc.

The expected outcome is that said buffs apply to you (I have assist target on attack turned off, in case you're wondering - I'll get video of my settings there too so that there's no confusion). Instead, the buffs don't appear to apply to anyone, yet their cooldowns start and I start taking hilarious amounts of damage through shields that don't get their ten seconds of automatic reinforcement, or hull that continues to burn from plasma damage, etc.

Now, the workaround? I have to target myself by right-clicking on the balance shields UI element, so that I'm the actual intended target of the buffs, since the game doesn't seem to realize this when I have particular enemies targeted.

Anyway, as I said above, I'll update this with video of the problem shortly.

EDIT: Here's a clip from an ISE run. You can clearly see, when I start getting shot at by the cube, that I pop tactical team, and it doesn't reinforce my forward shield. Emergency power to shields doesn't provide the expected shield heal. It's only after I right-click the balance shields UI element to select myself and pop the remainder of my heals that they apply.

EDIT #2: Here's another one, from the same run. Everything works as expected up until the very end, when I pop hazard emitters with the tactical cube targeted and my ship fires the effect at the cube, instead of applying it to me. Maybe my science officer got assimilated?

other buffs also running totally wrong.

bevor today it was no prob to kill a cube solo now its a challange coz nothing works right and 2x tak Team like i have runned the last 2 years is at Moment usless totally buggy.:(

This would explain why my first ESTF went wrong, the escorts were like paper and I could heal them but I felt like my heals were doing nothing on me.

Edit: Come to think of it, I had a suspicion that my Engineering fleet buff wasn't applying to anyone but I passed it off as too much happening in combat for me to notice.

Same problem here. My escort feels like paper taking too much damage directly to hull like if i had weak shields.

Also the ability Go Down Fightning is always greyed out and cant be activated no matter what. I always like to use it to increase my damage output.

hmmm wonder near nobody have a 100% right working skill in the game at Moment but the only crying flaming is about the liberated borg can not be skilled?

i have noticed the game is horrible in playing without working skills.

the question is 40000 Players are to stupid to get noticed skills not more working ingame or only some Players have this bug?
    6 Players have post here???

i Switch to ground only playing after space stfs not more work for me without or sometimes random working skills.

    @ravagerborg

the skill works for me but only in near dead, so if i am near dead"~20%" and fast enought i can use it, near dead then this button lights for me.

and how many clueless payers there is compared to dedicated gamers?
second thing if you play on normal and fly decent build you seldom need any abilities, so they might not notice

This might explain why Brace for Impact and Rotate Shield Frequency don't seem to do anything to protect me from a Crystalline absorption release. Next time I run it, I'll take some screenshots.

Got another vid, this time in KASE. Two battles in quick succession - tac team and hazard emitters failure in the first, tac team failure in the second.

try skills now with 3 other ships and char Switch, same result, tak Team works from 5 times used 1x, so skills have now a 20% Chance do do there Job.

    new lottery skill gameplay.:D

hazard Emitters i have seen also sometimes working but most times the skill only light and do nothing.

at Moment is space gameplay totally destroyed .

This bug was actually introduced before LoR - I saw it on Tribble from the moment they switched to the new UI. What's happening is not that the buffs aren't applying to anyone, your skills are autotargeting your torpedoes. If you pay close attention in your videos you can actually see it happen. This will also happen if you have any pets out and mostly seems to happen if you're looking straight down the camera at your target. The only way to make this stop that I've found is to go into the options and turn off the ability to autotarget pets - a bit of a blunt instrument if you're fighting a player with a carrier but much better than gettting cooked by a tac cube.

I dunno if you noticed in your video but your hazard emitter went to a plasma torp. I've been ******** about this for a while. this problem was present on tribble and it never got addressed.

    *edit
you can see it around 0:51-0:52. id bet your tac teams have been doing the same thing.

now that you mention in, I did noticed buffs on HY plasmas like tactical team, pattern alpha and so on, thought it was some random FX misplace

btw omega and romulan torpedos still missfire once in a while, anyone noticed or know something about it?

edit: yep definitely powers target our own torpedos, I just wasted hazard emitters on one of romulan-hyper plasamas and clearly saw beam

second thing: while you're at it please make NPC ships stop using full impulse in combat, it makes all self guided torpedoes useless, cause they run until torps expire, I just fought Sphere that used this tactics for over a minute, there is no way they simply hit evasive maneuvers, they do it constantly and/or in close intervals whenever self guided torpedo is 'in water'

Nice, that actually works. Thanks for that - I tended to just ignore those options since I never use autotargeting anyways.

the only problem with doing that is targeting incoming torpedoes has to be done manually, also targeting things like tractor spheres and regen probes has to be done manually as well with those options disabled. Craptic needs to address this like yesterday. 2 months ago I reported this on tribble, not a peep out of em, and now here we are.

For me it's not that much of a problem, manual targeting's something I'm used to, and I do all-AoE cannon attacks anyways.

But I agree, they still need to do something about it.
