Each LTS gives you a 600 day token that allows you to buy 1 VA ship. The choices you can buy are Galaxy R, Intrepid R, or Defiant R on the Fed side.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
The KDF do not get Mega Escorts except in maybe they can use lockbox ships like all the others. The KDF ships are either Raptors which turn little better than cruisers or raiders which are made of paper. The Marauder is pretty okay in a pinch though.
The latter raiders are incorporated into the t'varo warbird and the mogai/Dhelan may do as a raptor equivalent. If you are 600day+ veteran or a lifer you can claim one of these for free on your romulan toon as a character unlock (Not account which means no FM reduction on fleet ships)
Each Faction character gets one 1,000 day ship. The Feds get the Chimera. I forget what the KDF get - and the Rom ship isn't available yet.

Chimera Heavy Destroyer escort and Peghqu' Heavy Destroyer raptor

He's referring to the Heavy Destroyers (Chimera and Peg'hqu) that lifers get via the 1k-day vet reward. And yes, Rommies will eventually have their own version.

Yeah. All your Fed characters can get a Chimera. All your KDF characters can get a Peghqu'.

First, I can not make my own thread. Question, how do I get access to make my own threads... just post a few times and make sure they are meaningful posts?
Second, i am a lifetime member who 'quit' and has returned. I am wondering how should I proceed? I pretty much quit after a whole month of playing STO when it came out. I did purchase the life time membership. I have not played after the first month after release. I thought the game was too easy and did not have enough content to keep me interested. (I could close my eyes, go afk, and let me bridge crew kill the mobs on away missions.)
Bottomline: My question is... should I start new and play from the beginning or play with my old character? Is there any advantage of having an "old" character? I.E. A character than has been created 1207 days ago gets additional rewards versus a character i started today?
I also had a Klingon Character.... actually I think it was a Gorn... they have PvE now? Should I restart him as well?

The forum has a few day delay for new accounts before you can make your own threads. This is to deter spammers.

I would start a new character to take advantage of all the story that you have missed over since you left. There's no advantage to having an old character - other then doing end-game stuff right away rather then waiting to level a new character. But there's a lot of new missions and new FEs - and thus a lot of nice gear you can get while leveling.

The patch tomorrow introduces an entirely new Romulan 1-50 leveling system and a new KDF 1-50 leveling system. I would start a new character there as well, to take advantage of the new Tutorial and all the new leveling content.

Yeah I know about the 1000 day ships but they could never be described as Mega Escorts! They are destroyers yes and great fun to fly but certainly not in the realm of any escort of its tier.

500 Promotional Points
Where do I access these promotional points?
I posted a link to the Vet Rewards in your other thread. You might want to look over the list there to see what's do you. You can collect them in-game from the C-Store tab in the UI.
As far as your Promotional Points, you can see them by clicking on the C-Store on the webpage. It'll tell you how many you have available to you. This is assuming you have correctly linked your forum account to your old Cryptic account. They started December of 2011, so you should have about 17 month's worth.

1000 day ship is avilable to be claimed from the shipyard by a level 50 toon.
Promotional points appear just like normal zen balances when you go to the store in game. Your balance will show as the sum of all promo points and normal zen that you possess.

i was asking if i can claim one on my fed officer and one on my klingon
Klingons get the Peghqu' *gesundheit*
Every character can get their faction's respective destroyer. They're like c-store ship unlocks, everyone can get one (on a valid account)
Now now, don't be hating on my adorable mini-Bortas gunship.
I have some questions:
