No biggie he says. Yeeeeah your average player will only net at most 2 mil ECs a day. Your crazy players (like some of my fleetmates) will net 5-10 mil a day. Your absolutely insane players (like one of my fleetmates and an entire fleet I know of) will net 20 mil a day. I am in the category of I could net 5 mil a day, but I am obscenely lazy, so I stay at 500k a day XD. End result: 250mil/500k = more time than I am willing to spend =P
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
Is the Chel still available? Thats a big question right there. If you cant get one now then fewer and fewer will fly one as the year rolls on. I havnt seen one announced in my 2 monthes play and only seeen one used. I run a fleet tactical and the turn rate and 5 consoles makes for a nimble and powerfull setup for stf's where you can come in and do major damage but able to turn and bug out if you need to. Plus for the extra aft weapon I dont see much advantage when using turrets since they do so little. I just plonk a mine and 2 beam arrays for my exit on the strafe runs where I am at full throttle, turn about at 7-8 kilometrs and drop to minimum impulse and lay out cannon fire. Works great for me.
If I could get a Chel grett i would probably use it if i needed to fill a different role in an stf but I doubt it would be my main choice for my tac. On my engi yeah it looks like a good choice especialy since i dont have a fleet ship on her yet.

Nope. Not available. Stopped being available in January.

I'd love one for my Sci captain. Right now I'm using mirror star cruiser and mirror advanced escort, each with Lt and Ensign sci seating, and a Chel Grett would let me get them into one Lt Cmdr seat, and then use the ensign for a second copy of EPtS1. Constant TT and EPtS1 uptimes with Lt. Cmdr sci--heck yeah
I've actually still got mine in the box. This thread has encouraged me to open it and test it out with some PvP action. I'll let y'all know how it goes.
I fly a chel on my klink tac, and I love the thing. I use the ltcom sci to run 2 copies of tss, which I throw into my spacebar mash with two copies of epts. (grav well who?) still alows me aux2struc and he, while the tac stations let me do two copies of tac team and crf(or csv as the mood strikes me) as well as cycling beta2 and beta3.
I have one on my KDF. So it gets used there. I didn't bother getting on my Fed since I tend to stick with more Fed type ships. However I wouldn't mind getting the Andorian ship later when I get my tactical captain up to Lv 50.
Back to the Chel, I really love using it. As it packs a heck of a wallop. No NCP usually last long against it. What is fun is the cluster torpedo I have on it. Talk about having some fun! I love watching that hit a ship. The Chel even chews up the dreaded Romulan Warbird that most usually hates to fight. I'm about to break mine out again soon to work on the Romulan Rep on my KDF. I tried the Negh'Var but it having a hard time with the darn Hirogen. So time for something Evil! To make it better, I have the Breen Boff as well.

All five of my current characters have f**in' hideous Chel Gretts in their dockyards. None of them use it, because they all have something I like better.
My Fed main (Tac) flies the HEC, because A) the Akira-class is my favorite Trek ship of all time, it's a carrier and I love bringing a little fleet with me into battle, and most importantly C) THE BUTTON.
My KDF main (Eng) is in the Tac Bortasqu' because A) he's eight-and-half feet of Gorn and it feels so very right for him to be driving the Tyrannosaurus Rex of battlecruisers, Nothing can decloak alpha like this ship can, and C) almost nothing can hull tank like this ship can.
My 1st Fed alt (Sci) drives the Intrepid retro because A) its a very pretty ship (my second favorite after the Akira), I like its ability to kill NPCs with science without actually firing a shot, and C) I'm waiting for a ship sale to buy him a Vesta.
My 2nd Fed alt (Eng) drives the Tuffli because he's level 28 and I really only use him to stuff my account bank with cheap commodities.
My KDF alt (Tac) drives the Mirror Qin because I'm too much of a cheapskate to buy him a fleet Tor'kaht.
So all of them get along just fine without the f***in' hideous Chel Grett.
Did I mention that the Chel Grett is f***in' hideous? The main reason I don't let anybody use their Chel Grett is because that ship is f***in' hideous.

It is a good ship. Does it look good? That is a matter of taste. To get it you had to run the winter event and I did it on 10 of my characters, because it was bound to account. I had on fore hand no clue which character would be good in it.
Then came the Kamarag and I moth balled all of them. I had about 4 active. Recently I came back to the ship on a tac and an engineer. It is a cruiser/escort hybrid so you can use it in both ways. As an escort it is not so maneuverable as a real escort, but it can take some punishment.
The console is not a game breaker and perhaps that is one of the reasons it is not so popular, beside it design. I think the 4 aft slots are great for a ship that can be flown as an escort. That and the lt. commander science boff.

for one the thing is ugly....well to each his own I sure some would disagree but to me the thing is ugly
The box it came in was character bound on pickup, so none could be sold on the exchange.
No other ship lets me do that.
