The Scim doesn't really fit in with Cryptic's Romulan player faction story arc so... Enter the Romulan Lockbox. Whenver something added doesn't make sense, it's usually in the lockbox.
You know Cryptic has Jumped the Proverbial Shark when they introduced Tractor Pulling to Star Trek Online!

Except that the Devs have already said the Scimitar won't be a lockbox ship.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
The only logical choice is the Narada. The Romulan republic formed by simple folk. Civilians. Farmers. Miners. People like Nero. Flying the symbol of his resistance to the treachery of Vulcans like Spock.

No not that ship. For some reason I can't stand its, maybe because of the Borg tech which was add to it. Since we are starting all over with the Romulan I say something new from the art team that we haven't seen before.
"You ask why we give our ships computer normal emotions. Do you really want a warship incapable of loyalty?"

I like how I one post you've used Logic whilst simultainiously calling Vulcans traitors. Well played sir, well played.
Also, no. TRIBBLE the Narada. The Dilithium mining event is boring enough as is without introducing a mining ship. That's a whole new pandoras box that doesn't need to be opened.

Firsts off its a Romulan Borg modified mining vessel -you see in the prequel special printed toilet paper comic to st 2009
it explained how nero gets a normal mining vessel to appear as a 5km thing. He rocks up at a top secret military base with the Romulan leaders staff which he took after killing him-the military let him in and he sees the funky secret borg tech and says I will add to mining vessel.
So in game -the Narada represents the opposite to the Republic-it suits the Tal Shiar and Sela more
Out of game -its premise is a insult to anyones intelligence, its fanboy overpowered and its stupid looking
Except that the Devs have already said the Scimitar won't be a lockbox ship.
Not like they've ever lied right heh. Anyway, I'd expect the Romulan Mining ship from that 2009 movie in a lockbox over the Scim. It was about as Star Trek as STO is. :P

i like your idea Even better i like the half done ship concept after all there is a deactivated borg sphere at the vault and we only get to go only so far into such a massive structure what other secrets lye in wait in the depths of the vault.
Thank you, but I think my idea wouldn't work without yours.:)
They'll still some kind of blueprints to make the thing work otherwise they'll need to spend a long time making heads or tails out of the different sections.
"What's supposed to go in here, the bathroom, the sensor array or the torpedo launcher?"
"I think this is supposed to become stellar cartography, the torpedo bay gets built two decks down."
Of course they can still change things here and there to make it suit their own needs or morals better.
My guess is the Tal Shiar would have installed a Thalaron projector given their research in this area while the New Romulan people might go with someting that is less unsettling.
Improved conventional weapons or a secondary deflector (of course that would be cosmetic only) to make the ship more flexible perhaps?
Would also be interesting if the Tal Shiar ever got their own version of this ship if it had some cosmetic differences and as an NPC ship some different capabilities, just like some of the MU Fed ships.
So let's see what other secrets the Vault reveals to the Romulan people...
Comments
Tavara Class (see Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations)
Basically a super-Mogai
Would have Dual Plasma Torpedo Launchers as a special ship only weapon though...
Admiral Sovak
Does anyone remember when we used to be explorers...
Could be tricky. Stuff from other games is tricky enough - and Fleet Ops is a Mod, right? That's probably downright impossible.
Except that the Devs have already said the Scimitar won't be a lockbox ship.
Its sleek fast and and it looks really well done.

That is all.
as long as the scimitar has a carrier variation i'd be happy, roms need carriers.
