The Yomatto is from the SFC Series. Those ships would be fantastic added into the game. Maybe via crafting likt the delta flyer use to be. Dsthal said he used to be a fan of the SFC Series and that ships from other games need permission from CBS........Yomatto gets my vote
According to this article CBS retains the IP rights to all the merchandising for Star Trek including video games so Cryptic might be able to get permission to use the ship designs if they wanted to.
I'm not going to look up the posts on the forum, but DStahl has posted several times on the limits of their Trek license - and it doesn't include anything from the JJverse. To use anything from the JJverse would require a new license addendum - and that means more money to CBS, as well as Paramount and Abrams.
That's money I'd rather see spent on content rather then fluff.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
Uhm so...the OP is asking for a federation dreadnaught?
First question is the OP a Noob?
Or just a Fail Troll being a failure
Look, we don't need to attack people simply because they're excited about the movie and the new movie ships. Disagree with the ideas. Don't attack the character of the poster.

That's what I'm saying. It's up to CBS if they want to play ball or refuse and/hold out for more money. It was CBS's holding out for more money that caused the licensing issues for JJtrek.
Maybe I should have said "if CBS wanted to" in my last sentence instead of "if they wanted to". It didn't sound confusing in my head when I posted it.
It's not just up to CBS. It's also up to Paramount and Abrams. All 3 need to sign-off on the use for it to happen.
Bill Prady, the produce of The Big Bang Theory, posted about what he had to go through just to get a Quinto Spock life-sized cutout on the series for a scene. He needed CBS to give their permission, he needed Paramount to give their permission, he needed Abrams to give his permission, and he needed Quinto to give his permission. And this is for TBBT, a show that is owned by CBS. Without all those permissions it couldn't be used.
It's just not as simple as you want to believe.

Not trying to give you a hard time it's just that from what I've read, in my opinion which could be wrong, CBS is the one that's giving everyone else a hard time over permissions. Others seem willing to negotiate reasonably.
I don't base my opinions off of one author's internet article. If I'm not privy to the actual discussions there's no way of knowing what's really going on.
None of that changes the fact that if Cryptic wanted to use JJ stuff in the game they'd need to write an addendum to their current license withCBS, and then get permission from Paramount and Abrams to use said material as well. And no matter how "reasonable" you think those other parties might be, they're Hollywood, meaning they expect to get paid for their permissions.

Just let me say enough people already explained why a super-uber-ultra omfg cool ship cannot make it in the game without becoming decidedly less of all things mentioned above.
They also don't have the rights/license to do that.
But I can imagine such uber-mega-ships for NPC enemies. We already have Donatra's Scimitar for instance.
Wait, we already have ships on both sides that easily fall into the "dreadnought-class" of ship. I mean, a dreadnought-class is essentially any very large, very well armored and heavily armed ship.
On the Federation side, we have the Odyssey, the Galaxy-X, and the Atrox.
On the Klingon side, we have the Bostasqu, the Vo'Quv.
The Romulans will possibly be getting their Scimitars, and the Ha'apex/Haakona class ships can be tentatively classified as dreadnoughts (being even bigger than D'deridex's).
All three sides can also access the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought carrier.
Really, I guess what is being asked here is having a dreadnought-class starship that looks physically similar to the one that appears in "Into Darkness". Honestly, though, while I could care less about having another dreadnought (I think those classes of ship should be few and far between), I wouldn't mind an end-game ship that was of that visual style: the medium-necked, spindly nacelled variety that TOS used. The Odyssey and the Assault cruisers come close, but are too long and their necks are too short (or nearly non-existent in the Assault cruiser's case).
But that's just me.
It's funny tho that the only argument you can come up with to justify your opposition is to assume that people wanting the ship are looking for some vastly unbalanced and overpowered vessel that would at best be game-breaking, rather than the far more likely explanation that they like they way the ship looks and would be happy with whatever stats/build Cryptic felt was balanced. :P
The thing is its usually the case that people want some god like ship with an i win button so they cant lose that goes for both sides KDF and Feds.
Personally i could care less i just enjoy playing the game i try not to over think it because all that does is leads to arguements and headaches.
So i tend to poke fun at the forum when someone gets all serious like this is RL or start over thinking it.
Its a game stop over thinking it and just chill whatever cryptic throws at us i doubt we will have much say in it anyways.
all this talk about new ships and what not is just wishfull thinking on our parts even if they did it would 9 times out of 10 wind up in a lock box so they could sell keys.

Use a mixture of Imperial skin [blocky!] and other skins.
[ edit ]
Ya, it's not quite it, or really close. Just the blockiness of the Imperial skin felt similar to me.

lol so basically you want a special federation ultra uber dreadnaught with a "I win button" on it so that you at a press of a button..you win.
i bet if you ask cryptic nicely they will give you one under your x-mas tree this year and if not?
SOON(tm)
By xmas tree you mean lockbox right?
thes 2 post has made my day
system Lord Baal is dead
