no free ship with token at 50? as a romulan

so I cant get a free ship at tier 5 with a token? I find it outrageous to think I have to pay get a ship

    If your not a 600 Day Vet ... you don't have a VA Token for Feds or Klinks either ... sooo ?

    Nothing new here ... at least not since this game became F2P over a year ago ... Game Servers don't run on "Care Bear Powers" ....

    tribble doesn't give out full vet rewards for lts unless you've actually got 1k days under your belt. shouldn't be a problem on holodeck when it goes live.

    you cant buy em even you do have the token its store only

    unless that changed with yesterday's patch, that isn't so. there were several t'varo refits flying around on tribble a couple days ago.

    Yes you can, at least when it hits Holodeck, not sure about the current Tribble Build ... but you can't buy any C-Store Stuff on Tribble either, doesn't mean C-Store is gonna be disabled after the 21th ...
    Vice Admiral Ship Token: Players that have been gold subscribers for at least 600-days will receive a single veteran ship token per character that allows the player to purchase a character unlock Vice Admiral or Rear Admiral Romulan Retrofit ship for free. This token is only good for Romulan ships when received on a Romulan Republic character, and the ship will be character locked to the character that selected it.

    Well thats not really a secret... never been a secret... For a free ship at VA, you must be playing before Dec 2011...

    Considering that you are offered a ship for free at each level, apart from VA...

    now THAT's outrageous. Considering that was not what was originally offered in the F2P matrix.
    Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

    Like many others have said, only vets get a free ship at VA.

    And where in the rules does it say you HAVE to pay to get a ship. No one forcing you to HAVE to do anything.

    Besides, its F2P. Just think of it as your monthly subscription fee, and be done with it. All that money goes back into making the game better, so you shouldn't be outraged over it.

    You should get a free ship at level 40, which is tier 5 and will serve you through endgame. you only get the vet reward token free if you are 600 days. exactly like every other faction.

    you are getting the biggest expansion we have ever had for free, and you think its outrageous that they might like some money in return at some point?

    free? last time i checked I forked over 19.99 for the expansion I would hardly called it free

    The expansion doesn't cost 19.99. The preorder packs are discount bundles of C-store items and are not required to access the Romulan faction or any expansion content.

    You did not pay for the expansion you paid for ships, and a few other stuff. The expansion is free.

    You didn't have to spend $19.95 for the expansion, that is free. You paid for a goodie pack that was optional to purchase. If you did buy it thinking you NEEDED to buy it to play the expansion, well, you need pay more attention.

    They likely believe that they had to buy the "Starter Pack" to get access to the "Legacy of Romulus Expansion." Cryptic has gone out of it's way to state that the expansion is free... so I have no idea how this person got the idea that they had to pay for it...

    Yeah well if that's the case, he bought it without even looking at the Ship Pictures ... you don't even have to read the description, to know that there are 2 Ships in it -> 1 T1 Ship and its Retrofit counterpart ...

    The real irony here would be, that he is complaining about stuff he wants to have, which he already bought ...

    I don't mean to gloat or anything, but I'm glad I spent the money that I did to get LTS. Way back in 2010, the game was as enjoyable to me as it is now. I missed almost 2 1/2 years of playing though, due to RL stuff, but I'm very glad I can still play it.

    As for the expansion, yeah I'm happy to be able to get a free ship at VA as a Romulan, simply because I'm way over 600 day vet (1180+ or close to 1190 can't remember). Cryptic does need to make some kind of profit, I mean they do with the c-store, probably more than we think. I don't blame them for selling what they sell in the c-store, because none of it is out of place to me.

    Sure, I'd love to get some of those ships for myself, but without the money to get them I just can't get them. Maybe once I hit VA finally on my Fed character, I can save up and exchange enough dilithium + my stipend per month to get them. I've heard of people getting ships from c-store just from in game means, they were not LTS from what I could understand.

    Anyway, if I could invest more money into the game I would. I would get that legacy pack for sure, simply because I enjoy this game. It may not be 100% what I think this game should be, but I'm not a policy maker at Cryptic. I will say this, I don't get this enjoyment from any other MMO on the market to date, that I get from STO.

    If the OP paid for the 30 dollar goody pack, then he gets a free ship token at level 50, and in my humble opinion for a pretty nice ship.

    But if the T'Varo Refit doesn't float your boat, there are three choices at level 40 that are not only end game viable, but also represent the best pure escort, pure science vessel and pure cruiser available to Romulan players. That's right, I said it, the Haakona is a better pure cruiser than the D'Deridex Refit!
