40 Chars? Wow...
But yea... That's probably gonna be a pest to properly get those right.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
I'm pretty excited, although as I've played most of the content that anticipation of something new is gone as I know what is coming, but I'm looking forward to doing it for real, and finally getting a D'deridex and seeing the final missions I did not get round to testing.
I'm probably more interesed in seeing the next lockbox, and testing out all the consoles and things from the c-store ships as I dont really know anything about them.
A mixture of excitement and sorrow. Exciting that Jhu i-Virinat will finally surface on Holodeck and sorrow that my Starfleet and KDF captains will be gathering dust once Jhu surpasses their levels.
Mixed feelings. I'm looking forward to running through the Romulan side of things, but I'm not overly enthused over grinding a new character through the rep systems.
I was fortunate with my fed and kdf tac officers, and my engineer with having plenty of marks for Omega rep, but not actually needing anything from it, leaving just Romulan rep.
My baby sci though, I didn't get into STFs prior to the change (burned out at the time) and grinding her through has been a tedious exercise. Having to do it all again, and helping build a new starbase and embassy from scratch.... ugh.
On the positive side, I'm quite happy with the amount of content and updates they're adding.
I'm pretty mixed. On the one hand, I just reached Lv 20 on Tribble and have loved every minute of it.
However, I am dissapointed that the Tiercel shuttle and Dhael warbird weren't finished at the release of the Open Beta and that there's been no mention of either ship being finished since. I'm also dissapointed that I - nor anyone else - will be playing on launch day because the servers will die and Cryptic refuses to pay money to get new ones.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
i am very looking forward to create my main as i was planning back in 2009 - a female romulan sci
then it is going to be a reman female tac and a suliban male engi. plus one more romulan male sci or tac. will wait with this one till i see the other new ships which will come till summer.
i did play the romulan side of the beta only till lvl 11, so i don't spoil it for myself.
i also look forward to play all the new KDF missions with my KDF sci main! this will be the only one from existing toons which i will be caring about after the romulan expansion hits.
apart from that, i am going pure romulan!

I know how you feel. I had enough Omega mark for around rank 3, and I grinded Romulan marks with the winter event, for my older char.
Now, I will have to do it grinding Eppohs and STF.
If the servers don't have a mental breakdown and end up whimpering in the corner waving a white flag then it's all good and I look forward to jumping into the new KDF before anything else.
But just in case I will wait a few days after launch before attempting to play.
I am soo excited. Infact so exited that i know i will break my promise to my self of NOT logging in on release day. Just to suffer from an instant ragefit over a broken server login.
Thats right... It's just one week till we see LoR live for everyone to play with in a real enviroment.
Personally, after testing, I am rather excited..
How about you?
i have already tested out the game with what little i can and played the full storyline on the side, im not excited as i am more concerned, mostly if cryptic dont take down the feedback from the bug section on the forum. there are some serious issues that need to be solved and frankly should of been picked up on sooner.
if they dont fix the issues within the next 7 days, its only going to cause trouble by launch. i wouldnt say it would be a disaster, far from it, but perhaps some forum flooding for a week or so until the issues are solved.
thats the problem, these issues need fixing not ignoring until a massive outcry happens. so i hope cryptic can jump in front of the problem before it becomes more trouble then its worth.
if you really need some proof;
1. voice overs dont work well, or half the time, sounds in general are borked in some fashion.
2. a number of missions are just not completable under current circumstances mostly by missing/unresponsive triggers on the map.
3. the general strength of some enemies may cause trouble for some, and this i would understand.
enough of that though.
as for the storyline, its like all those other storylines i have ran across in the usual heroic fashion. atleast until around lvl 34 then it becomes some random missions and FE's.
i just hope the writing team has come up with some suitable stuff to replace the kdf allied romulans on some of these FE's!
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I played all the content as well, and I must say, I believe you may be over-dramatizing a little.
I agree that the Devs definitively need to look at the bug section, and fast. There are without a doubt some issues that need to be looked at, but few of them are game stoppers... Even fewer are game-breakers.
But elements such as the voice-overs aren't finished yet... That's no secret.
But I only ran one issue, despite me running at elite from second 1, and that was in the *SPOILER AHEAD* where you infiltrated the alien base. I was unable to complete the 3'd incubation room, and that was solved with a beam-out, and try again.
And about the hard aliens: Try a sword... That solved it EVERY time for me.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

try 60+toons, LOL
anyways, I started to trim down my toon roster in preparation for May 21st. Trying to fill my entire character roster with just one toon per species, which includes a Alien template for all three Factions.
18 Federation Characters including the alien template (May keep it at 24)
9 KDF characters which includes the Alien template (May keep it at 12)

36 toons all together - KDF and Fed
That leaves plenty of room for Rommie development
Well...
1 Romulan of each profession and Alligence: (((1x3)x2)x2) = 12
1 Reman ^repeat = 12
1 Alien ^repeat = 12
= 36 ... Have fun with that. Sounds like a great deal of work ^^
EDIT: Yea... Coffe... should have been drinking more of that before making this math.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
I'm totally ready for this. Every time I try to go back to Holodeck and play on my existing characters, after a while I find that I just can't do it. Everything about LoR is just so damn cool I can't play the old game anymore lol. Only thing I'm not looking forward to is the rep grind. Not sure if I'll even do it on my Roms. It's just...ugh. Doing it on two characters was more than enough for me lol.
I predict a lot of expenditure on toon slots I have one spare ..... need more! I'm looking forward to release as I believe it will give STO a new lease of life.
I'm also intrigued as to how the new warp cores will affect existing ships and what extra tuning it allows
The traits changes, well I'll reserve judgement on that until I have to do it lol
Seriously, can't wait! We've been pouring our lives and souls into this expansion (as we do with all our work), and the world will finally see it. It's a truly magical moment, and something that I think will redefine STO.
Level all remaining federation characters below level 12 to level 12 (4 to do)
Finish work on romulan fleet starbase to t1 all catagories (if possible)
Complete old klingon tutorial one last time for Nausican "vega"
Stockpile Romulan ale for celebration
out of game buy a LOT of crisps (You need crisps when playing a romulan)

SHH... don't give them any ideas...
Sorry this reminded me of a few people who thought that it was all just photoshoped work and nothing much was coming in may.

Thats actually pretty good when you think about it:
Game <- Queue <- Server <- Network <- ISP <- User ...
We've cut two step off the "worry" list.

Umm, you're math seems off. 3 Professions times 2 allies is 6 characters per species in my book.

I knew I should have taken another cup of coffee before heading home from work.
The Wings of The Raptor will block out the Sun.
So the servers will crash in the shade.
.............I need more coffee...
