    Typical.

I come back after a year or two since playing last, waisted nearly 10gb from my internet quota (well haven't really counted the quota consumption) and time downloading all the patches and files...

    to a downed server.

And they're even too lazy to update on the status of what's happening or provide an eta

    Thats the Cryptic difference.

Ok so with all the outages the past two days, any idea if Cryptic will do anything to appease the cries of our anguish? lol I doubt it too but I can dream.

Cryptic's idea of appeasing our cries of anguish is to offer us a red hot poker up the backside, free of charge and ask us if anyone wants to be rewarded for their patience. ;)

Pushes a shot of GAMEL DANSK across the table.....THAT will put hairs where you probably don't want them....:D

I've never had that, what's it like? According to wikipedia, "It is matured with 29 types of herbs, spices and even flowers." It sounds a bit frilly to me. :o)

Hey that is a good idea, I like it!

    Vulcans vs Humans.

Ambassador Vulcony: We follow logic, logic leeds the way.
Admiral Janeway: And we follow our gut, and it leads our way (punches Vulcan)
Ambassador Picard: Admiral, have you gone insane!
Admiral Janeway: I've always wanted to do that!
Captain Sisko (in their heads): That's Tuvok!
Admrial Janeway: *gulps* SORRAY! (in Rikers voice).

How is this in any way surprising? If it was my company I would prioritise the new game which is in open beta and close to release also.... just sayin'

It sucks, because I want to play STO not NW, but it's kind of understandable!

Or it could be just a side effect of STO having a much larger database. Starting a database takes time, the more the more stuff is stored in it. And of course it depends on the database used. And all you can do is wait while the db starts, nothing else. I worked with dbs that toke a day to just start ....

can any of you explain why no dev bother to come here on the forum to give us an explanation or at least tell us they are working on it?
Can you also explain why the devs on the NW forum are so promptly answering their playerbase ( http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?186602-Server-Status-Updates&p=2596832&viewfull=1#post2596832 )?

Isn't the same company? are they in a different timezone?

Has anyone heard from anyone whom might actually know as to when this might all be coming back online? Probably not... But if anyone does have anything informative to add, it'd be much appreciated, I'm sure, by all of us.

Ok people you need to stop this thread lol, if you actually read your user agreement it says they don't have to give you anything.

In fact, if they wanted to they can close the servers for good and delete all your toons an just leave a nice "Thanks for playing but were fed up of whiny kids asking for free junk" on the sto website.

So i would be happy that your getting a FREE game to play and just go outside and maybe get some sun or speak to a person in real life, do something other than moan about something that is NEVER going to happen.

It is not surprising and definitely not understandable. Paying customers should come before a game that is only in beta.

I don't have that problem, I dogged the wife bullet back in 2010 when i caught her cheating on me. My life is now devoted to maximum cash generation while doing what I enjoy, so I can enjoy other things as well. Relationships have no place in my life, I will have no one tell me where to spend my money ever.

they act very different to the 2 games... it is shocking that a team do not communicate to the community as they are the reason they have a job :P
