Not sure if I've posted here or not, but here goes my contribution to the thread:
1. More playable species. Hirogen would be nice, and I'd like to get some canon and semi-canon species into the faction that have not been added to STO yet like the hydrans, mirak, lyrans, etc.
2. Romulan science ships.
3. A phase cloak of some sort would be interesting...
I assume you aren't one of the beta testers, so you should probably save your judgment until you play through the Romulan story. I wasn't too fond of the idea at first myself, but after giving it some thought and hearing the reasons behind it, it really does fit best for this game. I think you'll like the story.
And trust me, you won't have to make your own adventures. I guarantee there'll be loads of Tal Shiar foundry content to play to your hearts content!
Actually I am in the beta and the story isn't as great as everyone's making it out to be. It's adequate for a mid-level development team, but it's not exactly gold either.
The idea that I have to turn to the foundry for Tal Shiar content is, as I said, a cop-out. I can go to the foundry with my Fed character wearing a Fed uniform with a big ol' Federation Comm Badge on my chest and have an NPC call me a Klingon, but that doesn't make it true or adequate if I want to be a Klingon.
Romulan TOS helmet and uniform
Tos Romulan bridge interior
IRW codings for ships (especially my beautiful shiny Bop)
The same hand guns as Romulan rep
Option for all romulan/reman crews
Option in game to call D'tan a hippy
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

More playble species would be difficult given how the story of the Romulan faction works.
One of the Romulan ships does have a phase cloak....
A tal shiar skirt to match the top for females for both factions.
High heeled boots like the 7of9 boots for females of both factions.
Smaller weapon models in general, not everyone is a 10 feet tall gorn.
Honestly? (Oy, am I gonna get the business for this opinion...)
Use Duane's books and round-file everything else. The "Remans" especially. I can't buy that the Rihannsu and Havrannsu could've drifted that far apart over the couple thousand years since the Sundering.
Yeah, I know, won't happen. But you asked.
"You Iconians just hung a vacancy sign on your asses and my foot's looking for a room!"

Well your opinion is not widely shared, and I'm afraid that the devs can't make everyone happy, and since the majority of players find the story to be very good at the very least, I'd say they're appealing to the majority. I sympathize that you're not part of the majority and I really hope you end up enjoying the Romulan faction, but those are the cold hard facts when it comes to making a game, or basically anything else.
Thanks for the expansion that had "as much content as the last"
9 Episodes = 30+ episodes...?

It's pronounced "S.T.O." "Stow" sounds idiotic! lol
Would like to see the proper Romulan ranks used for the equivalent of Rear Admiral- Lower Half, Rear Admiral- Upper Half and Vice Admiral instead of the Federation rank system that is now in place.
I didn't say it was invalid, I didn't say it was wrong and I didn't flame. I just called you a grump because that's what you came off as.
Sorry but namecalling is namecalling. Calling me "just a grump" implies my opinion is invalid.
As far as my opinion on being unimpressed with the Romulan story and wanting Tal Shiar content not being "widely shared", that's not exactly a verifiable claim nor does it make sense as an argument (typically called an "appeal to the masses" or argumentum ad populum), nor does it invalidate my point either.
This thread is asking us what our wishlist is for Romulan content. One of my top wishes (and I don't think I'm alone) is true Tal Shiar content, the ability to be part of the organization that helped define what it means to be Romulan. Suggesting I play out my wish on the foundry attempts to circumvent what this thread is asking us for; things we want as official content.
1. More races for the Romulan Republic such as the Hirogen or the Suliban. Also, take the Remans off of the Pay-toPlay race list. Give them their freedom!
2. I would like to see more variety when it comes to Rom Ships. The Science vessel would be a great addition.
3. Plasma Heavy Quad Cannons!:D
4. Romulan faction-only STF-set.
I would like to take this moment to say great job on the faction so far. It still has some bugs, but, overall, it's still enjoyable to play.
PS. after the Rom faction is fully flushed out, I wouldn't mind seeing a Cardassian faction. There are plenty of signs that make it a major possibility.
Klingons, you get the best melee weapon in the game- for free. You get the only ship class in the game with universal officer slots- for free. You get access to eleven different types of carrier- one of which is free. You are warriors, quit complaining.
#1 A Romulan Fleet System (or at least restrict Republic players so they can't buy the elite phaser/disruptor weapons; instead, give them Plasma). It's a shame a 3rd Starbase can't be implemented to work within an already existing fleet, but for Republic players only.
...like, if you're a Romulan, you can go to a Starbase in Tau Dewa and enter the system. If you're a Federation or KDF player and go to the Tau Dewa Starbase, you can't interact with it, just as a Republic player couldn't interact with a FED/KDF Starbase. Yet their own Starbase would be directly linked to a fleet. I'll have to elaborate on this if anyone is interested and doesn't understand...
#2 Removal of FED/KDF Starships for Romulan Players (I doubt many Romulan players actually use the FED/KDF ships anyway)
#3 Restrict Earth and Qo'nos until Diplomacy/Marauder level 5 has been earned on a Romulan character. Would be more of a bonus then, and we shouldn't really have Romulans running around on our home worlds just because we're allies.
#4 Romulan D7 (C-Store?)?
#5 Suliban added to selected races, maybe Vulcans too?

Just thought of one more:
I would like it to where, if I'm allied with the Federation (or KDF, Fed just the example), then a Fed BO should be able to train up one of my RR BO's. Romulans with Eng Team II are insanely hard to come by.

Lately I've been pardon the pun Stoked about the Romulan Faction. I've done the research into their culture via Memory Alpha and Beta. I also learned how the writers and producers made the Romulans into who they are a fan favorite that i wanted to play from the beginning of Star Trek Online. After watching classic Star Trek shows like Unification (TNG) and other classic Romulan canon, and ill even throw in Remans
This is my list
Ships:
- Romulan Science vessel (TNG), its small, fast and light. Perfect for a dissident Romulan Rebel and reminds me of the Falcon in Wars.
- Romulan D7, It has been fan fav since the day it aried on TOS, with the Bird logo on the bottom and make it Rommie like. Which is featured in the TOS Remasted episode "Enterprsie Incident" With Romulan Uniforms please, i love those helmets.
- Possible Schimatar and Reman interior options
Appearance (uniforms, and species stuff)
- In terms of the Romulan look, its okay and all but i would like my Rommie to look like TOS which means have the option to get rid of the brow which by the way was missing in the 2009 film
Uniforms:
Nemesis Uniforms: Donatra's and other Commander uniforms look so sick their pattern is similar to modern day US Marine uniforms (color), that would be so cool.
TNG: Grey Uniform with the Y harness and have the Tal Shiar option of adding a second band on the left like Major Rakal in TNG "Face the Enemy".
Senator Uniforms or Government like the brown uniform worn by the Chairman of the Tal Shiar in DS9.
Reman shocktrooper uniform and Reman Doctor from Nemesis.
Add a full cape too like the Klingons
* a side note please do not make all the uniform options be like their from Star Wars or Galactica as smugglers...kind of takes away from the whole Romulan thing.
Ground Weapons:
With a third faction coming down the pike, a Romulan has to wonder, where are the all the Romulan guns, all disruptors in game are very Klingon like. If we have a Romulan faction please make the guns look like they do in the shows or for that matter the game, the rifle you made was killer. Keep Standard guns, Romulan. Some ideas:
Incorporate the Romulan Disruptor from TNG "Unification" the two handled rifle that looks like the pistol's big brother. The HD rifle would be suitable.
The TOS Klingon pistol would also be cool since in the "Enterprise Incident" they wore them on the opposite side of the Federation officers so like the Terran symbol in game can you make that happen?
For the Compression pistols, snipers, and full autos or any bolt weapon. Make the Reman guns from Nemesis that fire the blue bolt with the electric sound.
Plus make some Romulan guns fire blue beams like in the shows (TNG Unification) and call them Type 3 Disruptors (ST Generations)
Space items and abilities:
Retrofit Disruptors and plasma: Red Plasma torps from TOS "Balance of Terror", and the Red D7 beams from DS9 "Way of the Warrior."
Quadrant cloaking ability like the Schimatar, plus have the ability to obtain phase cloaking like the Romulans developed and the USS Pegasus copied in TNG.
Add the electric sound of the Romulan disruptors too instead of the short burst like the Klingons.
"fire with cloak for 30 seconds"?
any other thoughts? Post below:
WOW!!!!! Can you PLEASSEEE Stop! At this moment, the Empire needs work before you, cause I beleive you are up to par with the Federation already!:rolleyes::o

You can chose IRW as prefix, at least currently on the tribble build.

Whether or not you call me names doesn't invalidate my point.
That would just be you flaming me with an ad hominem argument.
More interiors/bridges
Reman/Dark Interiors
Reman Skin/Variants/Templates/Ships for existing/New warbirds
More Warbirds!
Romulan Science Vessel
And "It's a FAKE!" Emo
I didn't say it was invalid, I didn't say it was wrong and I didn't flame. I just called you a grump because that's what you came off as.
I can also see the Scimitar as the Romulan answer to the Galaxy X and Garumba. Make it emit a Plasma burst instead of Thalaron.
