I have a problem when flying with the defiant. As soon as I turn at a high speed it suddenly goes into a loop, going back and forward very quickly. It is only happening when the ship is at a high speed. I don't kow what todo anymore. To stop the loop I have to click 5 or 6 times on the main screen, then the ship slow down and return to normal. This only happening with the defiant and no other ship.

My system specs is as follow :

os: windows vista premium 32 bit.
Processor : AMD Sempron 2700 Mhz
Memory : 4 Gig DDR 1333 Mhz corsair XMX 2
Graphic: Nvidia GT 220 512 Mgb memory.
DirectX: Version 11
Broadband: 670 Kbit/sec dowload speed. 1Mgbit upload speed.

I am playing via HDMI on My TV.
Resolution: 1280x720 @ 60hz

If someone could help me please.

PS: I am playing on low setting.

Ah ok that might be because you setting but if it was what I am think as you described is maybe just lag constantly I know I had some with mine sometimes the ship would suddenly stop fast and then back up or do all sort of crazy things then go back to normal that problem is a server lag not because of your computer.

    But I could be mistaken.

Thanks for your reply. You could be right, their servers might have some difficulty following the defiant at high speed.:)

I have just checked with my girlfriend, when she use to play on STO online, she never had a problem with the defiant. So it could be the TV as she was using a pc monitor @ 1440X990.

    This is still a mystery.

I don't know your settings, but you could try and lower your Graphic options and see if the problem persist.
Have had similar issues in the past when my old card couldn't follow the more faster ships hense, making my ship jumping back and forward.
Hope you can make it work :)

Since I started playing STO, I always had my setting on low. but it could be the GPU that is not fast enough.

    My GPU GT 220 512MB

    GPU core processor: 650 Mhz
    Memory : 900 Mhz
    Cuda core : 48

My girlfriend GPU GT 240 512MB

    GPU core processor: 550 Mhz
    Memory : 1000 Mhz
    Cuda core : 96

    Thanks all for your input.:)

A slow GPU or fitzy monitor wouldn't contribute to his ship turning left and right without him telling it to.

It's most likely good old fashioned rubber banding. Get used to it since we'll all be seeing a LOT more of it when LoR launches.

I think that I partly resolved the problem by changing a setting in NVIDIA control panel. I switch the vertical Sync. from the default option to Adaptive. Now I can turn with the defiant even at full speed, but without using Omega or Evasive manoeuvers. So the problem could be that my graphic card is not powerfull enough or the refresh rate of the TV is not High enough ( it can't go higher than 60hz at the resolution I am on). Plus playing on 1024X768 is not practical on the TV.

Thank you all for your help.:)
