Tholians ate my framerate!

Just like the title says - New Romulus or Nukara, whenever I target a tholian, my framerate drops through the floor.

Messed with all the options, updated drivers, all that - but nothing seems to help. If they are not targeted, everything runs smooth as silk. It's only a drop when they are selected.


I'm running two GTX 670s in SLI, 8 gigs RAM, intel i7 2600k. This just started happening.

    What is your average? 80-100 and then drops to about 10-15? Have had the same issue on a brand new comp and thought it already burned out ,but it disappeared with the last update.
