was in fleet chat with my own fleet, which I was at the time a senior member of, one of our newer recruits asked if I wanted to join their CGE run, I said "No, thanks" and they and two other new recruits /ignored me.
The best ignore I suffered that I can think of offhand wasn't in this game. I was in a five-man dungeon group, struggling to get past the first boss of the dungeon. At some point during the fight, while we're all floating ideas for how to adjust our approach, I randomly say "less QQ moar pew pew."
Needless to say, one of our group members instantly takes offense, and immediately launches into some diatribe about how elitist I and everyone else in the group was, before rage quitting the group and putting us all on ignore...because I said "less QQ moar pew pew" to no one in particular.
Long story short, we finished the five-man dungeon with four players, and all had a great time clapping each other on the back at the end and rejoicing in how elite we were.
Some RPers are just elitist. New people have to submit to a hazing and off-topic people get insta-bans. I haven't been able to find a new group I like yet.
It's odd; I find some of the most elitist players I come across to be the same type of people who whine on forums about how elitist they feel other players are, or how inspect and similar features lead to discrimination. Meanwhile, allegedly "elitist" players tend to be as welcoming and congenial as possible, provided you're not a mouthbreather looking to be carried.

Got ignored by newbies now and then for chatting in Doffjobs.
(In case you aren't familiar with the place, it's basically a social chat channel for doffers, there are specific channels just for assignment callouts that were created especially so doffjobs can be used for casual chat).
I'll be honest. Im a Elitist.
We aren't that bad, we can get a little aggressive when we wanna tell u what is better to use. For instance, Phaser>Tet. Ive actualy had ppl argue with me over energytypes saying X is better then Y. With Absolutly no proof. The second I provide math /ignore.
And as an elitist. if you are trying OK. Ppl who need to be carried, if they speak up, say they aren't geared, or havnt done it b4. Ill probably carry their weight. I have a problem when, someone comes in, and just follows the group, doesn't res anyone, doesn't talk, doesn't Do anything except randomly fire at things. Then when I say, Does everyone know how to beat the boss. Then the 1 guy who did nothing the whole match just starts yelling at me for asking.
That has happened 5 times atleast.
Moral of the Story: Elitists aren't mean, unless, ur not doing enough. When someone stops for no reason to start yelling, they aren't an elitist. They are an a******, who doesn't know how to play. A lot of elitists know info and are pretty chill unless ur just doing nothing. Ill be honest, I love a guy who needs to be carried, and is honest about it. It makes it a little harder, more fun for me, and generally, it isn't a big deal.
Got myself ignored once for making the argument that Carriers aren't cruisers with pets....
*sings* "I like Gammera! He's so neat!!! He is full of turtle meat!!!"
"Hah! You are doomed! You're only armed with that pathetic excuse for a musical instrument!!!" *the Savage Beast moments before Lonnehart the Bard used music to soothe him... then beat him to death with his Fat Lute*
A Bajoran once put me on /ignore while I was playing Dabo on Drozana...at least she first politely explained that she made a policy of putting all Cardassians on /ignore. That's roleplay taken a bit too far in my world.

For having the gall to tell someone, that was calling me a noob, that the "Medal of Honor" tag above my character name meant I knew what I was doing in an STF
Once I killed 3 escorts in my Jem'Hadar dreadnought using beams and the people complained said I was P2W or said I cheated somehow and when I defended myself they ignored me. (It was 3 escorts on me at the same time in fed vs fed pvp)
Someone yelled at me for letting a probe into the Vortex after we already blew up both gates, and got the optional....He was freaking out, and I told him we got the optional but he said because i let the probe pass it messed up the timeline now....i thought he was joking till he PM me with a very bad word, and quit the match and blocked me.
the other players were all very entertained that we sat outside Donatra's range laughing about it.
I guess I ruined his immersion...and it was glorious

Psssh.. OK, I RP during combat sometimes, but even THIS is too much even for me.
Even then, doesn't an escape pod from Donatra's ship head into the vortex anyways and you have to follow them in to stop them from interfering? Even if you stop each and every probe from getting through, in the final dialogue in Khitomer Vortex, Donatra gets through regardless of your performance. THE PLOT MUST GO ON!

Had this TRIBBLE in a rainbow boat show up on a PUG during KASE. I was doing my part guarding one side of the gate and this guy decides to spawn a cube that he can't handle by himself and then proceed to drag it over to where I'm at. Next thing I know, a cube is shooting me in the TRIBBLE. I take care of the cube and then I politely ask the guy if he had played KASE before. He proceeded to insult me, call my Negh'var a credit card ship, and then ignore me before I could offer a rebuttal. I blasted him on team chat and explained that a Negh'var is definitely not a credit card ship and that one of my disrupter beams was doing more damage than his entire ship did.
last year i made fun of the fleet recruiting spammers in zone chat and gold farmers by putting the two together in the same concept.... ran into a bunch of people who couldn't understand the joke and got reported-->chat ban for no less than 120 years

Someone once asked zone chat to explain the Academy Event to them while it was going on and I quoted the game's suggestion to "Ask Professor Mayer for details" because I was busy doing the only thing in the game you need to do on the Dil front. He called me a snob, swore at me, and put me on ignore.
I was disappointed. Usually I have to work much harder than that.
Almost all the people on my own list are ESD lower lifeforms discussing usually one of (i) TRIBBLE (ii) religion (iii) world economics, (iv) black people and why they suck (v) some combination of the above. No coincidence, I usually just stick to DS9 when I have the option.
What's wrong with economics? I can't see why that can be offensive (or for that matter, interesting enough to be chatting about the first place unless you are in a company's board meeting).
Funniest? I was put on ignore for explaining the 10% rule on an Elite ISE, after being called a noob for it.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

I dont have anyone on my ignore list and I will never have anyone because that s*** function can chat ban people and I am not a moderator to ban people.

I have to say I'm okay with this.
Of course, I play as a KDF Gorn officer, who has a thing for Orion women. My entire bridge is lovely green women. I like to think of them as my harem. Who shoot and kill the bad guys with me, and for me. FANTASTIC! I believe in at least a little buy-in to who you are playing as, not just jumping in a ship and trying to win better stuff. When I'm playing, I want a little immersion.
I was placed on several ignore lists...by fleet members. The reason? I was not a member of the "in crowd" and brought up a different point of view then that of the fleet leader. Needless to say I quit the fleet and have not joined one since.

I wonder where we found those guys.

I can't say I would disagree with a policy of blindly ignoring manginas.

*In zone chat I was silenced few times for gorn jokes (but I know a guy who was banned a hour for gorn jokes by a GM = Gorn Manager)
*I linked my c store ev suit in zone chat and said "Im a asstrounaut" ...
*I said "Hello" in zone chat with my R2D2 toon
*Saying "Hello" with my 3CPO toon (deleted all my star wars toons since then...they bring bad luck)
*When Quinn was in club 47 I made a Admiral Quinn toon and got banned for sitting in his chair.
*Seducing Ensign Lessa with my orion

Pure, unadulterated genius.
It was really awkward when we ended up on the same Starbase Defense a couple weeks later...
They whispered, "How Rude" and when I went to respond I couldn't as I was on ignore.
How I was selected among the throng of people doing the same thing I can only put down to the uniqueness and size of my Toon.
Now if Cryptic could just properly hook up the "Delete" function of my keyboard so I could return the favor to people like this.
