couple chat bugs...I can't change chat channels in the tabs on my fed toon. I can change tabs which changes channels, but can't change channels in the tab. difficult when your chat is set to team, but you arn't on a team. On my kdf, I have no option to chat at all. Can't type anything into the chat box. There is nothing there for me to even click into to chat.
I have the same problem but my charactor is fed, so it isnt only just a kdf problem, None of the buttons are pushable and my curser looks like the curser from my desktop
I'm in the same boat as the above posters. No button response and similar screen appearance.
Also None of borticuscryptic's suggestions worked either. I was actually Alt-Tabbing and had a couple of other programs running while composing this reply.
If it helps any:
XP Pro SP3 w/Current Updates, I believe.
Intel Core 2Duo 6600 CPU
GeForce GTS 450 (306.81 Drivers)
2GB Memory

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content
1 - I would really like to see something done with the power icons, even coloring them red - tac, blue - sci, yellow - engy, and green - other would really make things pop out much better.
2 - The weapons, shield/crew, ship energy, and throttle are still shapes that really do not fit together well to form a UI unit. They still do not look good as it. There should be a way to "jig saw" them much better. I think the shapes fit together much better before.
3 - Maybe this is just the Tribble server but it seems the UI is even more laggy that it used to be and pieces load slowly.

Another with the mouse issues.
If I launch gameclient.exe without the launcher then I can type into the username box, I can't delete, move boxes or use the mouse still although the mouse changes to the usual cursor.
I don't know if that will help but it's there if it does.
its like something else is layered over the character select screen, and i cant get past it no mater what i try. is there a file for the entire tribble patch i could find and delete so it could re download? maybe that would help.
After some attempts on a second rig (with slightly older specs then my own) and having my GF log into her account (She doesn't have anyone on Tribble right now), I seem to come to the same conclusion. It's like there is a Overlay that isn't loading properly.
And just to reiterate, none of borticuscryptic's suggestions worked at all.

Tribble character transfers are working once again. Thanks for your patience!

Any info on the bug i am having?
I still cant get past the character selection screen.
I also was able to re-download tribble by deleting the tribble folder and letting the launcher re-download the files (tribble files are contained in \Program Files\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Playtest) but this also had no effect, now i cant get past the "Adjust your monitor settings...." screen, it wont let me hit ok, so im still at a loss
So I patch my tribble server as usual.. saw the new UI (looks great)... i was playing in the tribble fine for 2 hrs when all the sudden I got disconnected, and I know its not my internet connection because its a 8mbps download and a 4mbps upload, so im guessing it has to do with the server... so i try to log back in... and it disconnected again after 5 mins of playing, so i log back in... and boom im out again.. I do this thing 13 times log then im out... And I finally logged in a 14th time and this time I don't get to the actual game.. its just freezes then it kicks me off... so I try this 5 more times, and its still not working! Can you guys fix this?
They also broke Go down fighting. Now it needs you to be damaged to be used.
The ability is now useless in STFs.
um if I understand the skill correctly if you are damage or the less health you have the more damage you deal with go down fighting so all in all its not broke in fact its prolly better this way
so a bit of a mix up earlier with my image of my alien toon looking like a reman being removed Im curious is this a bug in the tailor? or an actual option aliens get to use now with the update?
under:
Head type - Reman
goes well with our old option of Reman ears we have had for ages.
The new UI is going to take some getting used too. I do hope we will be able to change the colours to what we want.
Would love to know where all the Nukara marks are supposed to be coming from. Lets hope it is not from Nukara itself, as that got boring last year about a week after it went live. The reputation is not enough to make anyone in my 500 strong fleet go back to that place again.....

the ui doesnt even look right in my opinion. it seems way too much of u playing thru a console of a ship more than anything and the computer that that console is hooked up to is generating a funky version of an ui and it not looking appealing at all

The difference being now you need to be below a set percentage of health to use it.
Basically, they did the exact same thing to GDF that was done to Ramming Speed and Abandon Ship.
When was the last time you ever saw the latter used?
1. The icons for almost all abilities and items are missing.
2. Too much transparency: The UI elements from different windows overlap making things hard to read and distinguish.
3. The character in the tailor is too dark: it looks as though it's under a shadow. (I have low graphics settings. I didn't play around with different settings, but you should really test the new UI under low graphics settings before it goes Holodeck.)
4. I don't like how you removed the bars from the sliders in the tailor. It makes it difficult to compare settings across characters. It would be helpful to show a number for each setting and add a text box so that the field can be input numerically.
5. Basic body variants are still broken in the tailor.
6. The mouseover tooltip for the different classes has been changed to the following:
Engineering: Tank
Medical: Healer
Tactical: DPS
Whether that is the intention of those classes or not, the only description that fits nowadays is for tactical. First, there is the a distinction between space and ground. In space, cruisers make better healers than science ships (except for carriers). On the ground, engineers heal shields and science officers heal health. A science officer healing himself can often tank better than an engineer healing his own shields. It is also the opinion of many people that tanking is not required for most content. Keeping the above descriptions for the different classes will only serve to confuse new players.

The Green/White/Orange targetting reticules is much appreciated.
Agreed. The Orange for friendlies and Yellow for enemies on KDF side made it hard to tell which was which due to the low contrast between the colors (especially for color-blind people).
I have to agree, the transparency is beautiful to a degree, but there needs to be shading so one can differentiate what you're looking at. I spent five minutes hunting through the options for an opacity slider.
The Aeroglass look is gorgeous and lets you see more of the screen, but at the moment it's WAY too transparent. I had issues reading everything.
I am also not seeing any icons in inventory, trays, or anywhere else.
I would also like to see the bars back on the sliders in the character creator, I use those for guidelines.
I also love the widescreen view of officers in the dialogue screen, nice touch
I did have an issue of when dialogue boxes popped up the chat box also popped up, because the NPC was speaking. Rather annoying.
so are romulan npc ships using disruptors, with this new half shield half hull debuff, or 'romulan plasma' weapons now?
that half hull, half shield debuff sounds like a romulan elite fleet weapon to me.
personally, i think plasma weapons, or the 'romulan plasma' with the disrupter proc should be the romulan energy type. in cannon i doubt they have the same type of disruptors as klingons, in game that could just be represented as plasma weapons.
i wanna see this UI! and see these rom NPCs for my self. put the d'deridex defender back in too! an npc that actually acted like a player ship, sorta
Worf: The burns are from Type 3 disruptors.
Riker: Great. That narrows it down to Romulan, Breen, and Klingon.
~Star Trek: Generations.
In canon Romulans use disruptors and Plasma torpedoes. That said, I agree, all Romulan ships should use the hybrid plasma disruptor weapons, it's only logical.

1.Not in my game. The boffs from my ship were missing but I changed my ships and now all powers are back in their place.Even keybinds still work.
2.There is no transparency in my game
The powers are there and the keybinds work, but I can't see the icons. Also, every window is transparent for me. I can literally see through them to my character or ship. I think a lot of things are basically broken for people with low graphics settings.

yea after I posted that I checked on low settings and windows are more transparent.Devs probably made it for high settings because it really looks good and to see that transparency you need to search it .Also contrast is better now because the UI is using less bloom. It would be cool if we'd have a on/off switch for that aero effect .
btw some parts of the UI (exchange ) look more like Windows 8 Metro

I dont like the old UI and I lived with it 3 years. Now you try the new one for 3 years

Dedication Plaque: "Nil Intentatum Reliquit"
I think they changed the lock on the shard!
