Explaining a concept that you have yet to grasp. Time and again you have resorted to complaining and/or insulting others when your arguments failed. You have made the following claims/assertions:
The Hoh'Sus console pet does 10k DPS with it's cannons alone, on top of it's "triple deployable transphasic torpedoes and tricobalt mines." It also can solo player escorts.
Quad Cannons are stronger for PVP than DHCs.
Completely unaware of energy requirements of Quads
The Bort has a Commander Tact slot.
9 points into Energy Weapons gives 4% crit.
9 points into targetting gives 4% crit
Orion interceptors cannot be used on anything but Orion carriers.
Your autocannon regularly hits for 90k
On top of that, random claims of scores of ships you wipe out on your own.
You degrade others for talking about ships they don't yet own. You then explain how you are unable to buy the Fleet Torkhat, yet call people who fly one Noobs and explain how the Bort is far better.
When you are asked for proof for any of your claims, you refuse to provide any. When someone provides direct factual evidence that proves you wrong, you accuse them of trolling and hurl insults.
That's all just in those 2 threads. A quick search of your name brings up several other gems. In another, you claim the Garumba is the best ship in the game. You state, "Character class means nothing." Your Gravity well hits players for 8400 DPS. Photonic Shockwave hits them for 24k. All straight Hull damage, unmitigated by Shields.
Oh, and apparently within the last few days, you say you HAVE bought the Fleet Tor'Khat and are now an expert on it.
Bought the Fleet Torkhat almost two months ago. First fleet ship I ever bought.
And it is correct what I posted, the HoH'SuS, can deal over 10k DPS. between its rapid fire, scatter volley 3, etc.
And furthermore, if you don't own the ship, you have no place even discussing it.
Photonic shockwave, and gravity well, both bypass shields.
Feel free to max buff both, and try so yourself.
Guramba is an amazing ship.
There are 7 fleet vessels, and 5 zen ships KDF side I don't own, yet. BTW.
Again, post parses for all of your claims. Prove everyone else wrong. Show us your PS3/GW ripping apart players consistantly within 3-4 seconds. (24k PS3 on top of 8.4k DPS GW straight Hull damage should kill pretty much anyone in seconds.) Show us a Hoh'Sus hitting 10k DPS constantly against a player with it's cannons. Show us a vid of your Hoh'Sus soloing someone. Show us a parse of your Disruptor Autocannon consistantly hitting 90k. Any of those claims would be easy to log, and would end the questioning of your claims.
I personally think you are enthusiastic about the game, which is good. However, you also make pretty wild claims that others have found to be untrue, and refuse to back down from them.

Benovide reminds me of when I was maybe 6 or 7. I would be so excited about something I saw or heard that I would make up fantastic stories about it to get others just as excited about it.
Of course often those people were adults and realized pretty easily that I was stretching the truth or just making things up.
I guess id find this more forgivable if he showed some remorse at being discovered instead of calling people names.
Is the Bortasqu worth $50? As others have mentioned, that depends.
I'm a cruiser guy. I thought the Vor'cha was pretty much the gold standard for cruisers (can equip DHC, good maneuverability, durable, looks good) and I bought the Bortasqu hoping it would be a big Vor'cha. Yeah, not so much.
Don't get me wrong, I ran DHC/turrets on it when I got it and did pretty well. Combined with the Cannon console I was putting out good damage. And using reverse, evasive, and deuterium helped mitigate the Bortasqu's horrendous turn rate. But its inertia fights you all the way. Imagine you're piloting an island with guns on it. That pretty much defines the Bortasqu's turn rate.
I kind of feel guilty having a ship that can equip DHC and not doing so, but I wanted to try something new so I decided to make a beam build work with the Bortas. I went fleet plasma with the 2-piece Romulan set (console & torp), 2-piece Omega set (KCB & console), 2-piece Borg set (deflector & engine) with a fleet shield. I don't have Rommie consoles yet (embassy isn't high enough).
It puts out decent damage (4.5-5k dps) and is nigh indestructible. Maneuverability isn't a huge deal anymore, power is never an issue, and it just looks great. Out of the six times I've run the Crystalline event I've placed 1st three times, 2nd once, 3rd once and didn't place at all once (I didn't heal anyone that run). The Bortas makes a fantastic healboat.
So was it worth $50? Meh. I'm only using the Command Cruiser and am not currently using any of the Bortasqu's special consoles. I probably could have just bought the Command and been better off, but I have all three so I can play around with them at my leisure. I love using the Bortas as my Engies daily driver and I'm glad I have it. But if I had to do it over again I'd probably just get the one ship, not all three.
It's definitely not for everyone, though. And even running beams it still pays to plan where you want to be a few seconds ahead. This island doesn't have power steering.

I prefer an analogy of a Freight Train.
Use Subspace Jump, Subspace Snare, somekind of tractor beam, and the auto cannon. And work towards decloak alphas with DHCs, you may grow to like it, or not.
What you said the #1 reason why people fail with this ship, they try to compare it with a smaller ship, which it just doesn't work that way. It's twice the size of the Negh'var, and has twice the inertia for a reason.
Play it like a battleship, and NOT like a cruiser, and you'll start loving it, so long as you play it to its strengths and not its weaknesses.

And if that doesn't work, just make up stuff about how it works and comfort yourself with the warm light of your very own reality. Don't worry, everybody will believe you.

Just because you fail with bigger ships, doesn't mean everyone else does.

Glad you could take time away from your Bortasqu fanfic to post something. Just be careful that it doesn't spill over like your stories of the 10k dps pet and the dozens of kills you got in PvP did last time.

On the contrary, I do have dozens of kills in PVP.
As said before, just because you fail horribly with larger ships, doesn't mean everyone else fails with larger ships. Too bad it's beyond your comprehension.

And as I said before, nobody believes you. You've proven yourself to be unreliable on multiple topics. Your PvP kills might have been believed otherwise, but your explanations of how you go about getting them are full of holes. Holes the same size as the ones I'll make in your ship if you ever actually log into the game instead of spending all your time painting your Bortasqu miniatures with tiny escort kill symbols from your imaginary battles.
This is the meta, iz srs bsns. Make claims. Support claims. This is how it works.

If you're going to use the Bortasqu' gear EVERYTHING POSSIBLE towards disruptor damage, or you're nerfing the main cannon ability it has.
With the above quoted setup, I can't imagine you NOT scoring dozens of kills per night. The Aft equipped beam banks by themselves must be wrecking trolls left and right!

I DO love the Bortasqu. I thought that would have come across in my post.
As I'm not using cannons or disruptors, both the snare consoles and the autocannon console wouldn't be helpful (plasma beam build). For disruptor DHC's, though, I'd consider the jump console to be almost mandatory. I've been thinking about picking up fleet disruptor cannons/turrets and rolling as an artillery piece again, but for now the beam build is too much fun.
But honestly, I don't think the 3-pack is worth $50.

You misunderstand my intent of my last post, I was making a general statement, but you are correct, for a beam build, any jump console, snare or otherwise is quite useless/pointless.
But playing around, for troll factor, the barrier field is quite fun to play with lol You can TRIBBLE off quite a few escort players messing with them with it. (and at the same time, let your BoPs battlecloak)
Personally though, I'm glad I bought the full set. I feel it was well worth it, considering what I got out of it.
^THIS^-going back to the OP and anyone who's thinking about a Bort, but hasn't committed the money yet. I did this in November of '12, it's the one way you can really get a feel for whether you want it, or you want to keep your money/Dilithium for something else instead.
the concept is "Try it before you buy it", and it's enabled by a console at the Qo'Nos shipyard on the Tribble server. All the advice and anecdotes in the universe, all the flamewars mankind can come up with, none of that works quite as well, as actually testing the thing before you commit to it.
Never been on tribble, but overall, I am the OP bud......... And I did commit the $50, and I'm loving my ship.
I don't run vids in pvp, but if you queue for FvK cap and hold a lot in the past few days you might have seen 2 House of Beautiful Orion Bortasqu's regularly dominating in damage and kill counts. Watch for Zac@metioricone or Tala@marc8219 in Bortasqu's, we have no problem using DHC on it in pvp and dominating with it, even if its the rare occaison when we see competent fed pvpers in the queues. I'll try to screen shot some of the results next time. Also I will be in kerrat for an hour or 2 per day this week in a Bortasqu if you want to witness the carnage there.

I played with Metioicone several times in PVP line ups. He runs the same build I do, minus the Quads. (At least that I've seen)
Im currently using 2 single cannons, the quad cannon and torp....to counter the turn rate.
Would i be better off using the duals up front? would the higher damage offset the lower time on target?
Obviously on something like the new CE the duals are fine as you can just point yourself at Mr Sparkly and unload whilst healing yourself, but what about other encounters like STFs or Rommie patrols where things are moving faster and flying around you more?
