Will the Delta Quadrant be part of the Romulan Expansion?

logicalspocklogicalspock Member Posts: 836 Arc User
The Romulans already are allies with one delta quadrant species. The Iconians have the ability to transport ships and people to and from the delta quadrant. Will the delta quadrant open up in May or in the release thereafter?

I am betting this is Season 9. Or whatever they want to call Expansion II: The Wrath of Stahl.

I doubt you will see the Delta Quadrant for some time. That does not mean you will not see DQ foes used, though - those insect looking things with the insect ships could be from the DQ. But I am guessing most of the new Rom Missions will take place around the current Romulan territories.

I would imagine Season 9 would be more PvP and KDF expansion material to get them better situated.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Well with the Delta Quadrant it would be more Expansion II: Return of Neelix.

And that is why we should not want this ... as in ever ...
I want my Kazon Lockbox dammit! Leola Root Soup, Airponics Hangar Bays, special Lon Suder DOFF, Seska BOFF, and Kremin Timeship Dreadnought!

Starfleet Kazon: Play as the species even the Borg don't want. On the plus side, the Pakleds will finally have some friends on their level.

From what little information they have released, it looks like this will be them filling out the Beta quadrant (where the Romulans and Klingons live), not going into the Delta yet. Delta is beyond Beta, so it would be after, presumably.

How do you mean "beyond Beta" ?
The galaxy map is split into the 4 quadrants.

Well I don't think "Not season 8" is going to be a delta-quadrant thingie.

Q said, that humans shouldn be in that quadrant for another 200 years, so TBH I dont see us going there on a regular basis anyways.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

I rather ... distance myself from the idiocy that is Voyager
Much of this game is rife with Voyager things. From the delta flyer and the racer uniforms to Icheb and Naomi Wildman being in the game. Ablative armor is on the T5 Intrepid. The Borg bits and pieces are a visual in the game. Slipstream, Transwarp hubs, much of the Borg stuff from First Contact that Voyager took and built upon. Transphasic Torpedoes. Stuff with Chronitons. There's so much Voyager stuff crammed into this game. I think we're well pas the point of wanting to distance the game from Voyager.

Plus the game is called "Star Trek Online" not TNG and DS9 Online. It needs to appeal to all Trek fans from all the series and Prime Universe movies.

Yeah, it's a circle, you have to go through beta to get to delta. You can't cut through the middle, there is a barrier around the galactic core.

I mock the Klingons a lot for how one dimensional they've become.
But a Klingon warrior still looks like someone who could do you serious harm. The worst I'd expect from a Kazon is that he'd steal my hubcaps.

I don't recall Voyager going through Beta to get back home.

What's wrong with the Kazon? They act a lot like Klingons, but have their own cool looking ships.

That's one of the most annoying things about these forums. People just love to rain on other peoples' desires. I mean really, you all got your Excelsiors, your Romulan Factions, your playable Liberated Borg officers. But the minute someone else wants something they like, such as a Kazon ship or something like that, it's "No."

It's just so disingenuous. The Kazon are part of Star Trek. Voyager is part of Star Trek. They have fans. If you're not one of them, that's cool. I mean, me personally, I'm split on Voyager. There's so much in it that I like. But the episodes, especially in the last two seasons of its existence, had so little closure. So many of them just ended, with no idea on what the aftermath of the storyline wrought. And that really grated on me. But if someone who loves Trek, and loves Voyager, asks Cryptic for a playable Kazon, I'm not going to try and crush their hopes. That's just mean.

In all fairness, I do not believe they ever got out of the Delta in 7 years. They simply used a Transwarp Hub to get home. If they had to fly the whole way they probably would have needed to go through some of Beta to get back. :)

Did you even watch how Voyager got home? Because if you did you weren't paying attention.

SPOILER ALERT - highlight to reveal

They used the Bork Transwarp system to jump halfway across the galaxy. They literally skipped most of Beta (not all of it, obviously, because most of the Federation is in Beta as well).

I agree. They didn't get out of delta. They did use the transwarp hub. That same hub system, or something very very similar to it, seems to be in use in the 2409 game though. ;)

The Kazon are morons. They're poorly designed, poorly executed and ridiculous caricatures of Klingons.
Their implementation was such a disaster that even Voyager's own writers despised them. The entire Kazon arc was outright cancelled before it was intended to finish because they hated them that much.

Also those ships? Not even theirs, they stole them. That's how pathetic they are.

Well so much for my spoiler efforts :P

The Federation is mostly in the Beta quadrant, so obviously they went through some of it to get home - that last leg from the hub exit to Earth ;)

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I can't read your posts anymore. They're all founded on completely biased personal opinion and filled with aggression. You warp what happened onscreen with no regard for other fans and other tastes. I think your gameplay experience is far more suited for a single player game since things other people like, including those who created the shows, never seem to fit into your personal trek universe.

You're a lost cause when it comes to MMOs.

Good luck in your continuing mission to stamp out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go and destroy all things you don't like.

That's actually a transwarp gate to the Gamma quadrant, not the Delta (hence "Gamma" Orionis block). But I am not seeing your point. That gate is IN the Beta quadrant.
