Can't join in-progress STFs

The title says it all. Every since the launch of S7, it's been impossible for me to join an STF if its already in progress. Tonight a match a a fleetmate made had a player drop, so I checked the matches that were already in progress to join it and help out. However, I couldn't find the match name she told me. We (people in the fleet) use our fleetname, and a standard password for all our private matches. I saw several with the right name, though none had the password, and all showed 5/5 players. I double checked that she had given me the right name and password, and she did. Like I said, this has been happening every since S7 with the new STF names. Any help?
