Is anyone else having the problem of your helm not listening to a word your saying? (or key your pressing) and not turning in a space battle? You die and your helm seems to have some sort of revenge thing going, focuses on the guy that killed you when you respawn and wont let you turn away, all you can do is move the throttle up and down and have some nice looks at your ship. Some captain I am if my helm doesn't listen to me
. Second time today.
it fixes after a few mins

Try deselecting your target.
What's happening is that if you're targeting an enemy when you die, you will end up being stuck on auto-follow for that target for some reason (unless someone else kills it before you respawn). Your ship will insist on flying straight into the enemy and right against it, and nothing you do will stop it. You could just turn off your throttle and wait or you can use a workaround.
The workaround is to A) Someone kills what you were targeting when you died, Click an empty spot on the screen to deselect the target, C) The best workaround, hit the ESC key on your keyboard a few times until the game menu pops up and this will deselect your target. Hit the ESC once more, or click the cancel button, to close the game menu.
It's really annoying but I've made it a habit no matter what that if I get blown to bits, I turn my throttle off and hit the ESC key a few times after I respawn. Then I go full throttle and get back into the action with no problems.
