Neverwinter launcher and STO launcher/game too intertwined

So I'm running into a bug today (since I have a 1.5GB patch going in the Neverwinter launcher). Any time I have the launcher for Neverwinter going, I can't do anything in STO. When I first had it going, I'd logged into the STO launcher first. When I started the Neverwinter patching, I then hit "Engage" on the STO launcher and the launcher disappeared but the actual STO never launched. No windows or anything (even waited a couple minutes). I tried launching the STO launcher again and it would hang at "Patching" since there was already a patcher going it figured. As soon as I closed the Neverwinter launcher, the STO launcher was able to verify I was already patched and change the button to Engage. Also, the original "Engage" I had hit earlier was able to complete and bring up the character select screen (so I closed the new STO launcher). As soon as I launched Neverwinter patching again, The STO character select screen hung and I coulnd't interact with it. When I closed the Neverwinter launcher, I could interact with STO again and logged into a character. When I started Neverwinter patching, STO hung again and I couldn't interact (no other player movement anything and I was at the KDF academy). When I closed Neverwinter it instantly "caught up". So it looks like anything Neverwinter is patching you can't do ANYTHING in STO. The developers might want to look at separating the two applications a bit more.

    Having a similar issue here.

STO was running fine. Installed NW. It appears from the NW launcher I have that the server status is down, so I went to run STO and it just HANGS on Patching.

Any suggestions aside from a complete re-download to get STO working and is my Neverwinter launcher screwed up that it shows the server down, I thought it was the beta weekend.

Open up the Task Manager and see if you have a process called GameClient.exe running. This appears to be the actual game and only 1 instance of this process is allowed at a time.

When I've had a game crash, and the launcher sticks on patching, I've had to kill the GameClient.exe and restart the launcher.

Closing the Neverwinter Launcher fixed it every time I'd try. You just can't have Neverwinter patching (the launcher can be open, but not actively patching) and STO runs fine.

I've also been able to have both games going at the same time (on different monitors), I just can't have either patching.

In that case I wonder if the two launchers are using the same port to the patch server.

Not that it's something that they couldn't change / reconfigure

I think thats the case. I could never patch to both games at the same time (STO/CO). THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.
