I have been a faithful player since launch day. I helped you grow this game. I waded through your evolutions and have been understanding to the changes you have needed to make. I have sadly watched you ignore and even refuse to develop the Klingon aspect of this wonderful product. I also know that if you do make a playable Romulan faction it will be as poorly developed as the Klingons have been.... and I have decided to be ok with that.
I bought the 25 dollar dreadnaught as soon as I could and then went on to buy all the ships in the game. I have paid for all the Bridges and uniforms (pre-Perfect World involvement). I have gotten a half dozen people to sign up for service and a few have paid for life-time membership. I went on to get my own life-time account. I bought the Odyssey pack, the Vesta pack, the Andorian pack. I made these purchases with real money and most months I have at least 100 dollars worth of Zen credits sitting unused in my Zen bank. It is my choice but I don't farm dilithium or do anything to generate in-game income. Even after three years of play and 9 Toons across two factions. I may have 10 million EC between them all. I play this game out of love for the sounds my beam weapons make as they splash across my enemies hulls.
If we were dating, I think we would be sitting down to have "the talk". You have really let me down this year. You aren't as committed to this relationship as I am anymore and you continue to make greedy horrible mistakes and seem to care little. Relationships are about give and take... you have become the taker in our relationship. I do understand that your new Chinese Overlords (Perfect World) make all the decisions now and that Cryptic is not the player driven Dev team inspired company you were three years ago, and most days I accept that. It is easy to see that one: Perfect World doesn't get that Americans and Chinese players have different mind sets. As an example most Americans aren't going to pay 500 Zen for a costume (Most) and I believe you have seen a huge drop in Zen purchases across the board from you American players which is why you have moved away from making Zen content.... outside of overpriced ship packs. Second: It is crystal clear that Cryptic is being forced to hand off their coding to inexperienced Chinese coders. There is just no way that a team with three years of experience are going to release a new ship pack that doesn't work out of the box.
You have had more emergency patches this year than you have combined in the first three years. The Andorian Escorts didn't work on release. They don't add much to the game. The Andorian Dilithium weapons are MK XI? (side note) Ok, here I complete realize that they are only XI because you are going to add a Mk XII upgrade option to the Lobi store here soon. The 3 year anniversary mission didn't even make sense for a Klingon player. (as a Klingon) If some guy walked up to me and said "I come from a timeline where the Federation and Klingons are at war and we are losing" Why would I give a TRIBBLE? Why would I help him fix that? Also speaking of the Anniversary patch, how could you release something that caused so much lag.... after three years of development? Lastly and the main reason I am writing, you don't respect me anymore.
You released this horrible Andorian pack, charged 5,000 Zen, I have a feeling it didn't do well, and now you have a 15% Zen promo. But I bought more Zen like 8 hours before this promo kicked off. Why not give me the discount as well? All of us loyal/dump players who don't wait for cheap ships and cheap sales... why not say to your loyal players "hey anyone who has bought Zen in the last week, you are retro-included in this deal, thank you for your loyalty!"
I can tell you as an American player.... little things like that will make you a LOT more money in the long run. Bring down your prices in the Zen store and items will fly off the shelves. Even in make believe, I can't see how a full combat shuttle is 500 zen and a single uniform is 550 - 700 Zen. But again I am American. I wouldn't buy a Suit that cost more than a nice Motorcycle. The more value you give me the more money I will willing spend. Like when Dilithium was 400/1 on the Zen exchange... I would buy it all the time and dump tons of cash into this project.
No I am not going to quit playing, but I see that you are no good for me. I can see that our relationship is failing. I know you don't love me or this product anymore and now you are just in it for whatever you can get out. And you are very lucky that all the other "stuck-up" games out there are just as greedy. I will admit I did start seeing Guild Wars 2 for a month in hopes to move past you. But it was even more emotionally unstable than you are so I came back. Just know this. My loyalty is not to you anymore and if I do meet a game that treats me right I will leave.
But, if you care, expanding your Zen promo to include all loyal players who have made a good faith purchase in the last week.... and maybe to say sorry for releasing a bugged Ship pack. That would go a long way.

The Galaxy X was originally available through the Refer a Friend program. Is that how you obtained it? Or did you buy it straight from the C-Store later when they put it on that?

Actually they are Mk XII. Its a tooltip error. They have the same dps as other Mk XIIs.
I believe the reason that they went for an over priced ship pack is to make money out of prototypes. If you imagine the artist at the studio who got tasked with making models for the ship they will make a few different variants and one would get picked as the model to use. By using a ship 'pack' they can use all the prototype models and get paid for them so no time was wasted on models not being used.
Personally I find this rather distasteful myself as I prefer to go to the store and buy A ship and not be cajoled into buying a 3 pack instead. This is why I currently do not currently own a c-store oddy, vesta or kumari but do own many of the others. Have to say uniforms are something I really see no point in buying in this game as they are almost never seen.

Well the 3-pack has been a con since the Oddy was created. A single ship with Uni Boff-slots could have been created. A single console layout favouring Tac/Eng consoles could have been created (since most players use Sci console slots for maybe 2 Sci consoles and the rest Uni).
Unique consoles are added to the mix to encourage you to buy all three but ultimately, how many of them do you end up using? And why couldn't they be sold separately? Why aren't the ship designs available separately?
It's to make $50 on three gimped ships feel like better value than $25 on a single, superior one.

I use all the 3-pack consoles, my Fed engineer uses an Oddy fully equipped and my Sci uses the Vesta with the consoles. My KDF toon also has the Bortas with all three consoles on, I like the abilities they have although I'd have to say the Vesta is my fave... love the design . I know they're expensive, but I use them pretty much exclusively unless I want to RP some TNG or something in which case I take my Nebula or Galaxy-R out for a spin.

It's nice to have an alternate point-of-view since mine predominantly comes from STFs and PvP where these consoles are frequently referred to as 'toys' - i.e. they don't really serve any useful function. Some STF players do use them, but most I know put more 'vital' consoles (Field Gens, Alloys, Borg Consoles, Tachyokinetic, Zero-Point etc.) in there instead.
Personally, I can't imagine losing three console slots to any of the sets currently available but we're both looking at our ships in different ways I think - and there's nothing wrong with that
On the packs. I only use the tac version of any of the ship packs. With the Oddy I always run all three consoles because you get a small bonus to hull/shields/turn by having all three active. I however almost never use them. I can't afford the crew hit when you use the saucer separation. On the Vesta I use all three, one I use all three and You get an extra bonus for having all three in place. I almost exclusively play Elite STFs and my little Vesta holds up better then most cruisers I play with (side note) If you are a sci player, please focus on healing your team. If you play with me.. please stay within 9K of me so I can heal you.
BUT... the new Andorian Escorts have almost zero value with their three consoles. There is NO bonus for having the three in place and what is worse, in many ways you are penalized for using them. Why would any tac captain chose a weapon that takes 3 seconds to charge and fire while taking ALL forward weapons offline while it charges? I have seen about 95% of the time my target is dead from other player combined fire before my blast goes off. I have removed all three of my consoles and have greatly improved my survivability. If I had designed it, it would have been a slow charge that builds up over a minute and allows you to fire one huge blast.... but no one asked me.

you do realize all the andorian weapons in the dil store have a [Dmg] modifier on them? that's probably why their DPS is equal to that of a Mk XII weapon
this is assuming you're talking about common Mk XII weapons in comparison to the andorian weapons; if not, disregard the above

fyi.. I bought some zen in the past week as well.. about $120 worth.. but eh.. I wanted it then, got it, used some of it ( still have 1500 in my account ), and will probably buy a lil more just for the promo.
It is what it is.
OH.. and as a KDF.. I loved that the new ship was bugged.. and hated that it was fixed.. the next day.. not that big of a deal.

I have never had an issue with spending money..... to a point.
