OK it's great that we have new rom and oooh look at how pretty it is, It's missing one thing. The place is So big that it would be an exalent place for the Halo jeep. you have a beem down slot where you can either bem down a officer or the jeep, if you are a team doing a mission togeather you could beam it down and have the other team members hop in the jeep, Also you could but a standard one for say 100 Dilithum and if you are able to have silly money then you can Zen a cool jeep with gun turrets and ither halo bits on it. Now that would make me want to be in that planet. You could also use the jeep on ground planet away missions as well. Not cave or interior just ground,. Now the fun bit would be that you interface with it as you would any other item using the wasd keys and the abilities like the ship. come on cryptic you knkow it makes sence:)
I've been waiting/wanting/begging for a Romulan faction since closed Beta...
If I were to make any type of guess, I would concluded that the Tau Dewa and/or Iota Pavonis sector blocks are being fleshed out and/or revamped. Crytic created all those various planets in the Tau Dewa sector, but they do not contain patrol missions, episodes, or foundry missions.
Second, the new Romulan logo from "ST: Nemesis" has two globes. Within this particular logo design, only one planet is being represented. According to Cryptic's latest reveal, we will be getting one new adventure zone. Did they create an 'Old Romulus' map? Did they finally revamp Risa?
Did Cryptic make a time-travel story, which involves a Romulan backdrop? After you play through the last Romulan mission, the relationship between the Iconians and Romulans is left open ended. Did Cryptic finally bring us one step closer to the Iconians?
*shrugs*
Who knows?
Cryptic mentioned that season eight would include a 'Romulan element', but they did not mention anything about creating a whole faction.
I think we will get a playable character for the KDF faction.
Unless Cryptic comes out with more definitive details, I one hundred percent do not believe we are getting a Romulan faction. I think the Romulan faction story was a rumor, which was spawned from speculative interpretation of tweets and interviews.
Please feel free to back up your claim. You made such a random statement, and you didn't provide any proof. Even though many of us are speculating, you came out with an image and declared a Romulan faction.
I'm really hoping that it does not happen. Not because I don't want it, but because I want all those Federation playing Romulan Fanboys to know how it feels to be a KDF player.
Meaning that you are told "X" is coming soon and it never arrives.
You know Cryptic has Jumped the Proverbial Shark when they introduced Tractor Pulling to Star Trek Online!
Irrelevant. Without more facts speculation is futile.

In response I would ask that Cryptic ERASE COMPLETELY the KDF from STO so that KDF players can get a better understanding of what it feels like to be Romulan/Cardassian/Ferengi/Horta fan waiting on their faction to be added to STO.

They were clearly joking, as that's obviously concept art of the Narada from Star Trek 2009. Ease up.
You must be new around here and never heard the producer mention that he would like to play a horta in STO.
You can replace Horta with any faction that you please, other than Feds or KDF. :P

Dstahl: We are not ready to begin discussing the details of what is in our May update, however the reference definitely suggests that it is related to Romulans in some way. We will share more news about the update and give a clearer response to your question as we get closer to May.
.....
we need to reserve these ships for a future update when we can implement a playable Romulan faction.
.....
If and when we release a Romulan faction, ....
I can't wait for May to see the rage and tears of all those who read these statements and translate them as "we promise to install a fully fleshed-out Romulan faction in May."

Exactly. While many people are pointing to a Romulan faction, the developers have been saying something very different. It goes back to the KDF issue. Cryptic wants to flesh out the KDF side of "Star Trek: Online"; however, the company has also mentioned about the faction losing money. If they are losing money over an already in-game faction, why would Cryptic want to add in a third one?
Until Cryptic releases more information, the Romulan faction idea is based solely on speculation.
What did Dstahl mean by, "related to Romulans in some way"?
Is he talking about featured episodes?
Is he talking about a new social zone?
Is he talking about extending the Romulan sectors?
Is he talking about a playable character for KDF?
Is he talking about fleshing out the Iconian and Romulan storyline?
Is he talking about Romulan clothes for the player characters?
Is he talking about more Romulan bridge officers?
Is he talking about adding Romulan design ships to KDF?
*shrugs*
We do not know.
If the fan Romulan speculation does not come to light, we cannot blame Cryptic for not delivering a Romulan faction. Players set themselves up for the fall.
KDF You will not BELIVE what is from beta and passed that that the Empire was promised and never given. just click my link at my signature and you will see...
Also, as of this, the Empire needs more work. WAY more work.

Well short and sweet: The Romulans can wait. There is barley any support for the Empire and the Romulan will be nerfed or even take much from the game.

What you say makes me sad. They seem to be eding Romulan Romulan Romulan and not KDF KDF KDF. I know I said this above but really click my link. It will show you a lot. This is a great example by what this person is saying for it goes with most of what this wiki post says.

No one ever said the Empire was the main focus. Romulans are the main focus, we've known that since the teaser came out.
The only thing we've been told regarding KDF content is that it's coming in May too. But that does not mean a lot of KDF content. Just that some is coming.
I'm not convinced either way about this, but I am leaning towards a Rom faction. My main reason why I think so is the new player-quality uniforms on the NPCs that have suddenly appeared on the Captain's Table. If they were for NPCs, they would have been used in the New Romulus content, and the Captain's Table has traditionally been a place where the devs drop hints about the next season. (That still leaves the question of the new player-quality Cardie uniforms that are present there, but I am not sure what to say there)
Stahl's comments are also interesting. The two things that when taken together make me lean towards a faction launch is his confirmation that the May update is about the Roms and that there is a new Vet Reward coming at the same time. To me, that says "you will need to pay to play a Romulan, but Vets will get it for free".
As I said, I am not convinced, but my interest is certainly piqued.

The "two globes" held in the Raptors claws are Romulus and Remus. Seeing as they were both destroyed in the supernova.. the new logo only shows the New Planet..
*points at avatar* speak for yourself. My second char is KDF.teh Fed storyline is mostly filler anyways...Um, what? The KDF already has a more diverse array of ships than the Feds do.I'd be cool if they just dropped it down to level 1...
But yeah.... starting at L1 is really the only thing KDF NEEDS right now IMO...
Agreed, there *is* some filler in the Fed storyline, which is why I'm not suggesting that KDF get the same amount of missions as Fed.
Regarding ships. . .no, we're not more diverse. We have BoPs, raptors, battlecruisers, and carriers. The Federation has escorts, science ships, cruisers, and carriers. The Federation has a dedicated science ship class, the KDF doesn't (we have to make do with one-off ships that aren't quite as useful as full-fledged science ships). The Federation also now has a slight edge in escort-level ships due to the 5 tac-console ships and now the Andorian ship. The KDF has an edge with cruisers (which some Feddies aren't happy about, of course), and cloaks. Basically, I don't believe we have more 'diversity', at least not where it counts.
Yes, the faction needs to be expanded back out to 1-50. . .but when that happens, Cryptic needs to have missions to fill that gap. The reason the faction is only 25-50 right now is BECAUSE it didn't have enough content to really fill a full 50 levels. . .and the faction hasn't received enough since then to fill it. Rather than put in the resources to fill those gaps, Cryptic just compressed the faction. It was an admission of failure, IMO.
