I'd watch it, but I can't say that I favor those character designs, they're just a little too comically caricatured. I rather liked Star Wars The Clone Wars and even though the characters were portrayed in caricature form it was still interesting and enjoyable.
Terrible idea. I cannot stand the crtoony cgi of the clone wars and I wouldnt like this either. The 2d final frontier cartoon was a better idea.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Ran across this, and genuinely surprised I hadn't seen it posted here before; some really good fanarts of if Pixar did character designs for ST:TOS. Figured this crew might get a chuckle.
I don't really like the idea of a CGI Star Trek. Perhaps if it was done photorealistically but that has it's own issues.
Ya 2d animation would be the way to go. Batman beyond was a great cartoon, the MIB cartoon wasnt half bad. I even knew a married couple who watched the 90's spiderman when I was a kid. I think a good animated show could bridge the gap until if and or when we get another live action series and it could help star trek get another generation of young fans.

My personal fav is the Klingon. How long before this ends up as someone's forum av?
The Doctor Who, and Star Wars ones were good too.
