Purple Bridge Officers Bought Off Of The Exchange Turn Blue

As the title says: I bought a Gorn Engineer off of the Exchange; when It joined my team it turned blue, losing one of it's Superior Traits (though it kept it's skills)

Anyone else have this?

Gorn possess only one free trait. The other 3 are racially locked in as Inferior traits. Therefore, both blue and purple Gorn are identical traitwise, having only 1 Superior trait and 3 Inferior traits. This can also happen with Efficient boffs: The game treats Efficient when generating as a Superior trait, but when attempting to reverse-evaluate a boff for its rarity once commissioned, it will be treated as an Inferior trait: Thus, it sees a boff with only one Superior trait and the rest as Inferior traits, and therefore thinks it is a blue, or worse (if the boff was blue or green).

So, why does the Fed counterpart get 2 Superior traits ?

My Fed Gorn is a real purple boff with two superior traits. :D

Because the Fed Gorn BO is a 'special' Diplomatic Exchange Officer, and not a 'normal' one...

    Huh... I never knew that.

Well at least now I know I'm not getting jipped; but these still seems like something they should fix.
