    Stuff

Nice changes overall, I really like that I may finally purchase some decent ground weapons from the Romulan store for my Romulan character. Thanks to the changes to Romulan BOffs and the Romulan space set, but the latter still needs an update to its looks. Warptrails and nacelles should get a green colour, comparable to the Reman Set.

However, why is it that only Federation characters will be able to purchase the Romulan robe from the embassy? Wasn't the KDF tailor bugged or do we get something else? Also I LOL'd when I read the change to the KDF/Adapted grenade launcher, I mean we KDF players had this shared cooldown for like forever but as soon as some Feds cry about their new toy this weapon gets a huge buff

I'm sad the Romulan space crit chance is getting nerfed. IT took a lot of work to unlock those bridge officers.

However... Engineering Team will now completely cleanse all effects caused by Viral Matrix.... that's such a good bonus that its worth even the nerf.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

Addressed many of the graphics-related issues players have reported.
    Lots and lots.
Pitty this doesn't include the flickering nebula issue.

But more importantly, what have you done with the graphics overall?!

On holodeck everything works fine for me. On Tribble I've got no shadow options above medium to select, antialiasing is off by default, and if I turn it on I've got no access to options such as SSAO, Depth of Field or Soft Particles. Heck, even the tooltip says they're disabled with AA... The game looks uglier as a result. WTH?

This is actually an improvement over the previous no stacking nerf they pulled a few weeks ago, and atleast this time they included it in the patch notes instead of making it a surprise. With this change we will be able to get 4-6% bonus to critical chance plus 10-15% to severity depending on how many tactical boffs you use, I think thats reasonable. Ofcourse i would prefer the 11.4% bonus I could get before they started nerfing it, but who would expect them to really let us keep toys that were that shiny.

Were ship graphic issues included with this? If so, which ones? Or was this more of a fix for people having freezing and driver crashing problems?

The new variant is basically the same, except the impulse engines are now in the right place.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Why Viral Matrix need to be cleaned by Engineering Team?

All Science abilties and debuffs can be countered with science team. Why not Viral Matrix? Viral Matrix is a science debuff... So there is no point...

Since when are technicans are responsible to clean viruses?

    Liberated. Borg. Duty. Officers.

    Dude. Like, dude. Seriously dude.

I seem to have misplaced my pants.

Though seriously... set the Breen ornament as off to default for the FED too please. It would actually be kind of interesting if, going forward, that spot could display several different "special" ornaments over time. Set it to off as default but let people turn on one of several, someday. That would be sort of neat, and that would be my attempt to offer a helpful suggestion instead of just "make it go away". There could be plenty of events going forward over the next few years that the game will run that this could be used for.

This looks like a great patch though. Well done.

    ST.25.20130128a.5

    Fleet:
    • Updated the New Romulus Reputation Store:
      • Added more Romulan Plasma ground weapon types:
        • Stun Pistols
        • Compression Bolt Pistols
        • Sniper Rifles
        • Split-Beam Rifles
        • Pulsewave Assault

Very hard to actually test/look at these when our reputation is reset upon copying over characters to tribble...

Any word on preserving our full reputations when we copy over?

and as for the fleet ship shield mods, all the basic retrofits have the same shield mod as normal RA level tier 5 ships, wile all fleet ships have the same shield mod tier 5 fleet ships have.

so ships like the retrofit nova have 1.3, fleet 1.43, retrofit saber has .9, fleet saber has .99, retrofit ktinga has 1.0, fleet ktinga has 1.1, etc.

    fleet ktinga hollodeck

    maco mxXII per faceing-9719
    KHG mxXII per faceing-11780

    fleet ktinga tribble

    maco mxXII per faceing-9669
    KHG mxXII per faceing-12057

its like i expected. the extra chunk is hitpoints is gone, replaced by normal shield mod. this actually effects negatively the capacity of all but covarient shields on these ships slightly, especially for regenerative,

:( My Ktinga will be better but my saber will be worse I think. Regeneration doesn't count for all that much imo, it seemed fine for the ships already to be honest.

[*]Temporal Ambassador: Being on a team will no longer create multiple interacts for mission critical sections.

thats funny. because i was under the impression that u couldnt do it as a team to begin with. at least it wouldnt let me
*Me*Why don't you just step away from the weapons console. You and I both know that you couldn't hit that cube, even if it was right in front of us.
*Junior Tactical Officer* But sir the cube IS right in front of us.
*Me* EXACTLY! Its right in front of us and you still missed it! Just step away from the console.

You can still be in a team, but the mission is done solo. So, they would be in other parts of the galaxy and there would be some weird interacts in the mission because of it. This will resolve that :)

it wouldnt even let me do the mission on the team. i actually had to leave the team in order to do the mission at all. it wouldnt let me enter the nebula to run the mission until i did

I have a question to Geko.

I thought the Fleet Ships are supposed to get the following upgrades:

    1.) 1 additional console
    2.) 10% more hull
    3.) 10% more shields

The Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit definitely does not have an increased Shield Modifier.

    http://www.stowiki.org/Fleet_Tactical_Escort_Retrofit

    Please fix that.

    Thanks

    AHEM

This, Cryptic. If it's intended that the Fleet Tac Escort didn't get a 10% boost to its shield modifier, I'd at least like to know why.

Fastest base turn rate of any escort with 5 Tac consoles and two LTC Tac seats that isn't the Jem bug. Also the only 5 Tac-console ship capable of cloaking that has a turn rate of higher than 6.

I doubt it's any squishier than it used to be. Probably the only time whoever balances/designs ships actually had their head screwed on straight when whipping up stats. Don't worry, though. You're not missing out on that much awesomeness compared to other escorts on account of your lower shield mod, most of it comes from that third ENS Tac station.

[*]Klingon Honor Guard and Adapted MACO Pulsewave Rifles' secondary fire no longer triggers the category cooldown on all Grenade abilities.
    ...

It amazing how this was ok the year that the KDF had this. But the minute the Fed get it changes. Just another example the bias of cryptic for the fed and againist the kdf. Just another example of how they do like the KDF.

So when are you going to fix the Omega rep custome unlocks for KDF. Mine are still not working. I grind to omega 5, got the gear did the custome unlocks. But I still got nothing.

Oh that right it on KDF character that not important

[*]Relativity Pistol: The Hold and Damage Immunity should now always last the same duration, regardless of the user and targets' innate resistances and buffs.

Just went on tribble testing this.
This is NOT working correctly yet.
Weapon malfunction still cancels the invulnerabilty of this pistol, this is a huge pvp issue.
    Please fix this bs already.

I noticed a bug with this patch,
did you guys mess up the Space traylayout that had the boffs on them?
I fly all the time with them, but on tribble they are no where to be seen, i looked threw the numbers (1, 2, 3 (one they should be on) 4) but they are not there, i also tryed f12, Boff layout, hit hidden, then hit show, and still not there, please fix this

    Holodeck Layout <<< Picture Clicky

    Tribble Layout <<< Picture Clicky

Hmm i just noticed, If i go into Stations on my ship it doesnt show that my ship has any stations that i can put boffs on, this might be why i got this

Ship Without boff layout <<<< Picture Clicky

Cat Carrier btw if u needed to know (cryptic)

Jem'hadar Attack Ship has a shield modifier of 1.0. Fleet Advanced Escort has 5 tac console slots and the ability to load the MVA console, while having a shield modifier of 0.99.

And in practice, the cloaking device is not some uber-awesome ability. It's barely useful in PVE, and in PVP good for an alpha strike buff... but beyond that, not useful unless you can escape combat.

In short, the cloaking device is just not a good enough reason not to give Fleet Tac Escorts the proper shield modifier for a Fleet ship -- especially since not everbody who buys one has the cloaking device.
