Chat system Issues HELP !!

Ok This issue is really starting to put me off the game....
In the chat window I cant not see anything I type in fleet (when i was in one) or in zone chat...
I have re-installed the game twice...reset all options to default many times. it worked for about 2mins then it keeps giving me a system message saying "joined fleet" "joined zone" every 3 mins.
I have tried to put in a support ticket....but thats as not been any use at all...worthless lifetime sub..sigh
THIS IS A GAMEBREAKER... I do kinda need chat to work in an MMO !!

Fleet chat has been messed up since November 13, 2012. The day season 7 launched. It has something to do with the new "Change Character" option where you can switch toons without having to log out first anymore. Let me put it to you this way: after logging in on my KDF character I do up my doff assignments then switch to a Federation character. I then see my KDF fleet chatting it up in my chat box, even though I'm not logged in on my KDF character. In the list of chat zones when this happens all I see is Local and Zone. I don't have access to fleet chat this way. You can type "/Fleet (message)" to talk to your fleet. The way to fix it is to log out, log back in on the character you want to play on, which completely defeats the purpose of the "Change Character" option. Pretty damn stupid and I wish they would fix it already. Going on 3 months now. :mad:
I've never experienced what you describe, but I'm just tying to help identify the problem for you.
As for your forum join date, I believe what happened was that when the game went free-to-play they archived all forum posts up to that point, made everybody choose a new forum name and this gave them a new join date on the forums. So I'm assuming the reason why you show a forum join date of January 2013 is because you must not have posted on the forums since before the game went F2P. If you have then I don't know what to tell you. Not exactly sure on that though. I've only been playing since October 2012, when the game was already F2P.
Edit: Don't even bother putting in a support ticket. If you use the support website, they will tell you to use the in game bug report feature. If you use the in game bug report feature, it tells you that you will never get a response and it will just go to Q&A. This game seriously lacks customer support.
