Armitage: Is It For Me?

Well, obviously if I spend the Zen it is.

But that I mean is I am an Escort captain, all the way. Defiant class in particular.

Buuut, I do like the idea of a carrier. I have an Atrox, but ... it's just not very Starfleet looking now, is it?

So, I see the Armitage. Escort capable, hanger bay, heavy on the tac BOs, etc. Looks perfect for me (and no, I am still a LONG way off from a Fleet version and the current lockbox Cardy ship also isn't very Starfleet looking).

So, does anyone else fly this ship? Like/Love/Hate? I'm looking to do more support and shoot down lots of pesky projectiles and small ships. Any tips?

    If you want it for the hangar... No...

    The Armitage is what it is... a Heavy escort. It's turnrate is slower and it generally feels a little clumsy to work with.

    That said: With the right captain, it can be most effective, and if you use both the Torp and Phaser Turrret (from the Thunderchild), you will probably be the most useful crowd control tool a STF can have.

    In the end, I'd take on any armitage with my normal VA defiant (not the fleet variant) any day.
    Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

    No, not entirely for the hanger. I'm looking to try a more supportive escort role, as I've been running and gunning for so long. Plus "gnat" ships are the bane of my existence. I wish my Point Defense System was 24/7. Little buggers.

    Quad refit. Anyone run Advanced Runabouts?

    Well it is for me apparently. :D

    Just armed it up, and took it on a shake down cruise/mission. Fleet defense. I was able to set the fighters to defend the starbase while I ran around and racked up some kills.

    Plus I was able to buff teammates with my BO abilities. Should look into swapping out my Lt. tac as he just has a beam weapon ability and I am just running cannons, a turret and torps. Quad kicks butt, by the way. ;)

    And the photon point defence system handily removed tohse pesky enemy fighters buzzing about.

    All in all, definitely worth my time and money. A really fun ship.
